Hey @ddanjeong! I am so sorry to hear about you getting screwed on the getting the restricted LTC. This state is absolutely F'n ridiculous on getting a license to carry. You maybe able to fight it with one of the Comm2a.org lawyer's. Hopefully one of them can help you get it over turned. Not sure if you know about Northeastshooters.com but they have some good info there too.

I am also in the process of (hopefully) getting mine.

Basically my own fault, but maddening nonetheless that a misdemeanor drunk driving 18 years ago not involving any damage or injury is a lifetime ban, especially since I've been clean since.

I don't know the rules 100%, but I'm betting you can't just reapply the next day.

I also am willing to bet having one denied on his record is going to make it alot easier to get a second denied. His first application about how he's a competent gunner ain't helping here in anti-gun mass.

Disclaimer: I think he is exactly the type of person who should have one, I just think the state looks at him now as a "trained killing machine" because they are cunts.


Edit: It just blows me away, a guy I PAID FOR YEARS TO CARRY A GUN AND PROTECT EVERYTHING I LOVE, is denied the ability as soon as he takes his uniform off.

Although I don’t disagree with you, we do have to consider recent gun violence history and just because someone was in the service doesn’t mean they are still stable. That being said if your going to allow a service member to carry, why would it be restricted. Which brings up another question, WTF is a restricted carry? Limits you to target and hunting? What to hell else you shouting at on the regular? I can alway have my weapon with my as I plan to go target shoot later, yes?

My old man cat Oliver definitely enjoyed me being home. He could beg and yell for food whenever he wanted, damn he was 19 so it wasn’t going to hurt. Had to put him to sleep last weekend. Thinking back, I’m really glad to have spent so much time home with him these last few months.

 

Sorry to hear about your cat Oliver. Had to put my cat down a few years ago and that was tough me too.

 

I wonder if you could appeal that, especially with being clean for 18+ years.

That's what I put down when I applied in Andover. I also got the Class A so I could have "hIgH CaPaCiTy sCaReYi GuNs"

Technically he applied 6 months ago. I wonder if he could try to plead his case? He carried a gun for a living for years.

Restricted carry in MA is amazing! You can only have a firearm with you if you are actively on your way to the range or to hunt. If you are carrying it around and get caught, you need to prove (next to impossible) that you were either going to fuck up Bambi's day, or hit some targets.

They also restrict you on stupid stuff. You can have a rifle, but if it is anything more than 4+1, you need a Class A. You can have a shotgun but if it can hold 6 shells + 1, you're gonna get a cavity search. They limit pistols to 10+1, they also require a much heavier trigger pull (10lbs I think?). The difference with "MA compliant" firearms to normal ones is crazy!
