Bought mine in august. Loving it so far. Just towed my buddys Boston whaler at loaded at around 2200-2500 lbs as a test. It towed great! No complaints. This is a 2020 access cab model 2wd. I’m in Florida. The ramps were easy to handle and so were going over overpasses and bridges. Not sure why everyone on this forum hates the 4 bangers. If you are on the fence, I have no complaints and it does a great job. I was going no more than 76 mph. Gas mileage was 21.8. Highway and back road driving. Oh and it’s an automatic.

Edit: actually not sure about using this in the mountains but I’m in Florida sooooo

When I was doing research. Everyone kept saying to go with the v6 and that I’d be miserable. Well I’m not. It’s great.

V6 and 4 banger have roughly the same mpgs thats why. Easier to tow with a V6. Other than that, its a solid machine.

I paid 29,150 otd with tax title and fees all
Include in that price. Tax was about $1700, doc fee was 75, dealer fee was negotiated. This is SR5 trim

Cheaper is better in this case. Cheaper insurance and tune ups. People don’t realize it’ll run with the big dogs all day. All damn day. Every day. Well done!

Yeah almost went with the frontier 4 liter engine. Though couldn’t justify the 26k for Something that looked like it belonged in 2006. Plus I think I scratched the interior with my fingers for some reason.

True. But the 4 only exists to meet a price point. Some people make the mistake in assuming the 4 will get significantly better MPG. But that's not it's purpose

Higher altitude areas like mine paired to the auto makes it unbearable to drive.

The 5 speed versions are fine to drive, but there's no way I could drive a 3rd gen 4 banger auto as my daily driver unless it was a work vehicle.

I’ve gotten 25-28 mpg with mine from
Tampa to Orlando. I usually get around 22-23 when I fill up. This of course is not with towing and going 70-75 mph

I could get into the mid 20s with my 2.7s if I was easy on it. But like I said....price point is the reason for the 4
