What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

I run Spiker hood struts. They are definately legit. Easy mod. Every time I'm working under the hood, I'm glad I put them on

Plus... I'd rather support them (active in our community) than any of the alternative vendors.

 

Weird, the 99’s still got an original on one side as far as I know and it lives the same life

 

I made a thingy cause the other one got eaten by tires. It does the job but I wish I could secure it better in the front of the truck. Might change the zip tie out for a hose clamp too.

Just saw a buddy do this to his 4r and drilled a hole through a band clamp and bolted the clamp to the fender.

 

Thats fair I guess, I wouldn’t think weight in the bed would really affect the front pieces, but maybe I guess.

No work to my Tacoma today but got my drills right!

 

Had my fuel injectors tested and flowed. Fella said they were in pretty good shape given their age and mileage (270k). It’s been supercharged since the 5,300 mile mark. Pretty cool.

 

Got the vent covered, and my truck is too old for a low fluid sensor, never had one before. I'm curious to see how long my knockoff nalgene lasts, it was a promo from something. But I didn't wanna sacrifice one of my actual Nalgenes.

 

Did you reuse the oem seal? I would think that is what will go first. The nalgene will still be intact when the archaeologists unearth us a 1,000 years from now.

 

Yeah, it was still super supple. I washed it real good, drilled the hole in the bottle a bit undersized, de-burred it and wedged the rubber grommet in there good with some WD40. Also 1000yrs seems way too generous for how long the human race will last.

Finally went from sealed beams to H4 and I honestly can't believe how much better this is. Hella E-code housings and Phillips Xtreme Vision bulbs.
