apparently... and now I know that my '12 SR5 was made in muricuh

 

Hadn't been posted on in over 3 and a half years.

Toyota has been producing Tacomas in Mexico since 2003. So many of these threads over the years....and they're all the same....which isn't necessarily a good thing

Edit... I know it was a thread revival but a good revive. I personally don't care where my truck was made because I hope its still has super quality control but also its nice to keep the jobs in the US

Toyota has a great facility outside Huntsville AL that I've been inside of. Pretty damn cool to see and they are expanding as we speak. I will say there are a shit ton of desk jobs, probably more than the automated line for sure. Im drinking and done typing

 

My company's plant on the harbor in San Diego was within a few doors of the marshalling yard where BNSF collected trucks coming up from Baja to be sent on to who knows where. There was a constant flow of carriers coming up from Mexico. That supply chain point isn't doing that anymore (as of a year or two ago), but here are a few pix from Nov 2015 and Oct 2017, just to keep this fossil thread alive.

(These are all Gen 3 trucks, alas -- I'm looking to see if I took any shots when the Gen 2s were coming through...)
