I had a mouse in the shop this summer. Put out the glue trap but caught 2 geckos :( and 0 mice. Nailed him with the traditional snap trap the next night.

When I was a kid, we had a rat living in the cellar. The old man put one of those giant rat snappers out. The next day there was no sign of the trap.

A couple days later, when the house smelled like death, we discovered he had crawled into the heater before expiring.

That’s why you nail the trap down or tie a piece of wire to it.
I’ve caught (as of now) 8 mice in my work shop trap. Without it being secure they would have died behind the tool boxes.
So far 2 caught in my house garage.

Those big traps are impressive when they go off..

    Not much sir.
Started a little outdoor decorating yesterday for Carol.
Might take the Corolla for a ride today before I pickle it for winter.
Did all my winter prep over the past few weeks so I’m not stressed for time.

People in my neighborhood did the same. I can understand given how nice it was, but I sure wish it could wait until after Thanksgiving.

It's good to ahead of things. Good job!

I've just got a litte rearranging in the garage to do. Going to add some shelving for my woodworking tools. Getting tired of hauling them up/down my basement. My basement stairs are just inside my garage/house entry door at the back of my garage.

I have a major rearranging next year if I retire in my garage.
I’ve been buying tool boxes for years to store them. Half the boxes are empty so when
I bring my work stuff home I should be ok. Then I’ll ship half to my boys garage. I don’t need three of everything at my house..

Now that I'm all in on this "Handyman" type work, I've been trying to figure out the most efficient way to store/carry/transport all of my stuff. I've settled on two 22" plastic tool boxes, two of these 26" rolling tool totes/boxes and one of those 5 gallon bucket caddy/organizers. Everything fits under my Tonneau Cover. With the price of building materials and them time/labor, I'm just buying some. I'm sure organizing mechanics tools poses it's own unique challenges.

I ran out of floor space and with my putting a fridge in the garage I was desperate for a solution.
    So I built this..

Lots of my shop tools are big and heavy. They require big and heavy and strong storage.
So it will be a process....

It took me a week to figure spacing. I wanted the doors to be able to open when my truck was in there.
So I parked the truck a little offset towards the wall and then started measuring and extrapolate width
And depth. So for some reason if I am off a smidge I still have plenty of space to get in there.

    on edit.

the best part is I measured my salamander and other floor stuff so I still had floor storage. So I technically didn’t lose floor space and gained a bunch of wall.

Had the ever living shit scared out of me today. I like to drive in the big open gaps between packs of cars on the freeway. Was cruising to the grocery store and some movement caught my eye. I had less than a second to swerve as a semi tire had bounced over the guardrail into oncoming traffic. When I swerved right, I am pretty sure it went over the bed of the truck, but when I went to regain control, I was on two wheels for a couple seconds. I think my shock at that realization is what allowed the truck to settle down onto all fours without me panicking and rolling it. I stopped to see if it hit anything else, but it looked like it hit a bush and it fell over. If I could have squeezed anything out of my butt, would have been very high quality diamonds.
