It's rather forward-thinking. You won't have the change the decal when you get the URD supercharger kit. :spending:

So bouncing over the rocky double track was the last nail in the coffin for my rag joint. Is there a consensus among Tacoma owners regarding the best fix/upgrade? Weld it? Is there a bushing kit?

Other then replacing with oem I have seen guys replace the worn ujoint with a greasable one. It’s kinda sketchy as it’s technically not a serviceable part. I was just going to buy a new one off of Amazon.

I’m referring to the upper intermediate steering shaft attached to the steering wheel. Funny enough I already replaced the lower joint a couple weeks ago which was done in by a different muddy adventure. Man wheeling is expensive :)

    *edit*
I ended up replacing mine with a non-serviceable u-joint just like the OEM one where the end caps are staked into the clevis. Seems to be holding up well. I suspect tolerances on the splines aren’t as tight as OEM but for ~$90 I’m happy.

You want a belt-driven compressor like those offered on 1-ton trucks? I bet the URD supercharger bracket can be modified to mount this:

However, you'd still need to mount a tank, regulator, air/oil separator, etc.

Meanwhile I just keep my winch-sized compressor in a $15 Milwaukee tool bag :anonymous:

They used to make these kits for jeep a while back that use the york ac compressor. I actually made my own for the 4 runner 22re its pretty simple after the belt and bracket are worked out. with all the goodies out there for 2nd gen tacomas i'm very surprised no company makes one. I guess the portable ones are enough....

my appologies this should be in Ontario BS

I know someone did it on a second gen Tacoma. Believe they used a York compressor and did a bunch of custom stuff to make it work.

for the “monkey see, monkey do” aspect you said yesterday!

No worries. I wish I could remember stuff in real life the same way I remember things I have seen on Tacomawrld. Crazy how that works.

Looks like a fun time! I definitely missed out :( I’ll be at the next one for sure!

Question, is Ganaraska Forest open to vehicles all year round?
