Correct, you can only get it if you’re the claimant and using the at-faults insurance company.

I’d have to dig for it. I know I posted up on it right after it happened.

Perfect, just make sure it has your VIN on it which is should so I can put it in my estimating system that alone gives me lots of OEM repair procedures.

That sucks, but I would think it will be repaired. Time to put on an aftermarket bumper.

Should I take it to a Toyota shop I stead of a shop that's recommend by the insurance? I have progressive by the way and I thought about taking it to Xtreme Collision Repair 15502 Midway Rd, Addison, TX 7500. What do you think?

I wouldn’t wait on the police report. That can take a bit (police experience in working hit and run crashes).Where I work it can take up to 10 days to submit the report and then longer to get evidence. This may not be the case for you though.

I would go to the neighbors and ask about the rental truck, if nothing, I would check the area in where the truck might’ve been returned and take a copy of the police report. Check to see what trucks have paint transfer or damage and see if you can get a copy of the video. At least, It would definitely help and Penske can be held liable.

Always go certified! The insurance recommends shops because they have contracts with shops to send them work in exchange for lower labor rates, using aftermarket and used parts, as well as paint and materials discounts. Toyota certified shops will do work exactly how the manufacturer requires it to be done with only OEM parts. They can have a surprise inspection at any time and risk being kicked off the certified program if they are failing to follow OEM procedures or using parts other than OEM. Most if not all of their preferred shops do not pay the subscription for OEM procedures as well.

Bolt on? The 4R frames are boxed ladder frames and it’s welded in. I’ll crawl under and take pics of you’d like

It’s also the section that the receiver hitch is bolted to so, hopefully they did a good job.

3.5 hours of labor seems very low for a structural part replacement if it is welded on

Sorry that happened OP. I repaired mine with similar damage from a deer strike. You need to check the damage on the passenger side closely. The hood may have damaged your passenger side fender. Same with the light nacelle. Part of the mounting bracket for the TRD Pro lights broke off of the bottom mount of mine. Trashed the whole nacelle. Those TRD Pro lights are like 1150 each. Your lights may look weird if you don’t change out the bulbs on the passenger side. Mine looked off until I swapped out the passenger side.

There are a bunch of air dam plastic pieces surrounding the radiator that are likely tore up. Several sheet metal supports for the lights and hood latch.

Check for damage on your power steering cooler. If the fins are bent up, demand the cost for replacement even if you’d of have it done to pad your deductible.

Your bumper is trashed, so I’d spec out all the parts for replacement, then add an aftermarket bumper you like with the money.

Your grille surround needs replaced. These are often sold already paint matched. Talk to your dealership’s parts guy. He should be able to source you one thats painted your color already. Not sure if you have damage to the grille itself.

Your hood is done and needs replaced. Check all your hinges and the hood latch mechanism for damage.

At least your driver side fog lamp is toast. Check for damage to the wiring harness.

Your bumper facia is trashed. These don’t come color matched unfortunately. Note the damage where the facia clips to the body. There is a plastic piece under each side that also is an attachment point for the light nacelles. This plastic part will likely need replace on both sides.

An option for you is to replace the fenders with fiberglass or carbon fiber aftermarket ones if you like the look. They make carbon fiber hood as well. You may need new fender liners and a driver side trim piece.

I’d estimate you’re at around 7500 for repairs. The variable will be what it costs to paint your parts and to make everything look the same.

Independent of who's insurance you go through, diminished is state by state. Prior to my old Tacoma and my wife's Mazda being totaled, I fought the diminished value angle and was told MA didn't do it and I would be hitting a dead end.

This must be a state specific thing. My wife's Jeep was bumped in a parking lot and we had to pay the $500 deductible but that went through my comprehensive, not my collision, so the rates were unchanged.

This all echoes my 2016. My 2013 was totaled and I ended up getting insurance to cover a large chunk of my mods by providing all of my receipts. By the time my wife's Mazda was totaled 6 months later, I was a pro. Luckily in between the accidents I added the new car replacement add-on to my policy giving me MSRP + sales tax.

Regarding comments about air bags not deploying. I don't think they deploy in a vehicle that is not running.
