I’m mostly happy with it haha. We’ll see how it turns out now! Can’t wait for it to start growing.

likely going to pick up substrate for the 60 this weekend and either rescape this weekend or Wednesday next week

It’s gonna be miserable haha. Gonna have to get a bucket for the fish to hangout in while I rescape it haha. Scooping all the shit out is gonna be the worst part. Might try and see if I can get my moms wet/dry vac

Got my 60 pounds of substrate today. Shop I went to was fantastic. Great plant and fish selection. Picked up some spider wood for the 10g too. I’ll have to go back and get plants to attach onto the wood next week too

Looks good, just my opinion, but lose the thermometer. Or at least relocate it. For me it kinda ruins the beauty of your tank.

Just spent 2 hours rescaping the 60... only for the fucking rock structure to fall apart when the water hit the substrate. So pissed. I kind of fixed it but it’s not nearly as good looking as it was and I can’t get it back to original. I’ll post a pic once the water clears up and warms up and I add the fish back in

It’s the only spot that is easily readable for it unfortunately. Until I get a heater controller for it, it’s staying there.

I don’t even run a thermometer any longer on my reef. Once I got my temps where I wanted them.

I don’t trust heaters. I have 2 eheims in my 60 that aren’t even remotely close to accurate so I had to get a controller. I grabbed another for the 10 and it’s waaaay off too. Once I get the controller I’ll take it out since the controller has a temp readout on it.

Why not a little stick on on the side/front of the tank, just as accurate way less intrusive.

Because I just took this off my 60. I’m getting a controller for it so didn’t want to buy another thermometer, even though they’re only a few bucks. Rather not waste money

I’ll post a better pic tomorrow. Needed to keep the light off once I put the fish back in as they were all incredibly stressed and lost all color. Hopefully back to normal tomorrow.

That tank is too bitchin to not have live plants! Just get some super basic plants. That’s what I just started out with. Haven’t killed anything yet

Seems you’ve got it all figured out, controllers are way less expensive than strip thermometers....
