Toyota TRD OEM lift kit

This was posted in the M/T Tacoma Owners group on Facebook. I believe it is being touted as an OEM lift for the 20-21 Tacomas due to the addition of the camera bracket, and harness.

What I find intereresting about this is the use of the "TRD PRO" Grill, although this documentation refers to it as the "Trd grill" I'm assuming this is to keep the TSS sensor at the stock height once the lift kit is installed.

AND, seeing as those who have NON "pro" vin's trucks with "pro" grills, have had their PCS deactivated after Toyota performed the TSB for water intrusion into the TSS sensor... will this allow them to have Toyota reactivate the software?

 

Do you have the full procedure, or at least the page with part numbers?

Those are just generic shocks w a sticker on em right?

 

I figure that because there are no springs of any sort and only leaf spacers, no coil spacers. How else would you get any lift if springs or spacers are not used?

 

That looks like a normal Toyota document, you can see the number is T-AI-1315-D in the address bar. And the bottom left has the typically issue rev and date, only a few days ago. This is looking like a legit OEM lift kit.

 

The front shocks likely have the lower perch raised to lift the front. No different than the notches on Bilstein.

 

It probably is a 5100 relabeled. I mean, the 2G Pro was basically a 6112/5160 with Toyota specific valving, no?

I wonder if this is a SE Toyota option package, similar to how the T-Force or TSS trucks exist with random parts that have Toyota part numbers.

 

Touche'. Hopefully with a longer stroke to avoid added preload/reduced droop, though 1" might not be much to worry about.

 

Nothing shows up when doing a search, I wonder this is even a Toyota Technical Document.

 

There is big demand for lifts, and I know the dealers have been screaming for it.

I wouldn’t doubt Toyota is coming out with one

So does this mean one could buy an OEM pro grill cheaper with shocks than not? I thought OEM Pro grills were ~$400?

 

Following for more update. If it’ll give me at least 2 inch and still don’t have to worry about warranty issue then might not be so bad.

 

My dealer texted me a pic of this kit and some info this morning. Looks like a 2" lift up front, 1" rear.

TRD pro-style grill.

Available 4/1/2021.

Excludes the TRD Pro (makes sense) and the DCLB (does not make sense).

 

So what kind of shocks 5100s?
