Yes these are SL load. OE size. All the info should be in the pics of the sidewall. IMO its the best overall AT tire when weight is of concern... these only weigh 40.1 lbs per.

    I'm still confused.

    Limits of tire performance?

And, what exactly were you driving that broke them loose so easily?

I really wouldn't expect any AT to handle any sort of extreme driving very well.

Some of us 2nd Gen supercharged guys with highly modified trucks can pull the tires free on the highway. I’ve done it with my KO2s, though they did reasonably well with new tread most the time. My AT3s are on a Gladiator though, not yet supercharged with Magnuson's latest 440hp beast.

That makes sense. But, are there ANY AT's that provide adequate traction in that scenario? Even performance street tires will break loose with enough power.

Everything is a spectrum. A high street grip tire is likely going to be very mild for an AT, whereas an aggressive AT will pay a tax in street performance. Choose where you want to be in the spectrum and what performance sacrifices you want to make to be there (on road vs off road).

Was that a yes, or a no?

I understand that every tire compromises somewhere.

My question was whether any AT tires are adequately grippy for the described situation. The earlier post I quoted gave me the impression that there are.

It is going to vary based on power and weight of the truck vs grippyness of the tire. I have no concrete data to say either way or what the coefficient of friction threshold would be and what tires would be able to meet it. I can say speculate that I'd expect say a Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo 2 to do better in that situation than a higher void Toyo AT3. Less aggressive AT with better contact patch, but personally I'd rather have a more aggressive AT tire.

Um ok... But I think more to the point of what Thatbassguy was getting at was when White lightening said "don't expect these to be high performance tires" which is a pretty broad (even misleading?) thing to say after a very specific and unique situation he had. I had to read White's post a few times to fully understand what he was actually saying and then to say "don't expect these to be high performance tires" still doesn't really make sense...

Maybe if we added in the word "street" tire to the quote it might make more sense in this situation?

"don't expect these to be high performance street tires"... yes, I would now agree with you on that! haha

so great to see you did this. i just got rid of those god awful A30's and put on toyo open country a/tiii's 265/70/17and i really noticed no interior noise increase. glad to see the numbers! thanks.

It seems it's really just a different pitch and not an actual increase in sound over other AT tires....

Mine are quiet. No weird wear. Have not had any snow yet so we'll see.

    Performance question/experience question.

I have had these tires for a few weeks now and I am wondering if anyone else notices a very very slight vibration in the steering wheel @ the 60-65 mph range? Smooth as glass at all other speeds... I'm thinking maybe a weird resonance thing happening.

Initially I thought balance... But balance has been road forced by DT and Toyota... DT even replaced a least desirable tire (not out of round) just for shitz and giggles.

Am I just being too critical with these tires? They do have big voids so I expected some noise... should i expect some very slight vibes as well?

Maybe the compound being softer grabs the road more?

Any insight from the TW fam would be appreciated!
