Bungie's Destiny

So this might be the most useless exotic weapon I've seen so far. It's actually a pretty fun quest line but I'd recommend being over 1200 at minimum since the last quest is 1225. I did it at 1205 and it was pretty challenging but nothing to bad.

As far as the weapon goes... I can't find any use for it. All it does is shoot stasis at a target and freezes them. It does no damage at all so you have to switch weapons to do damage. But when you do that the target becomes unfrozen? It makes no sense. This isn't a MMO where you need crowd control. To the vault it goes.

 

Oh, yeah, like I said, that was my first time with the new content and I found out about the 1060 thing in a big way last night when I was trying to upgrade everything. I'm going to have to do some major house cleaning of all my shit that I have on my character and in the vault. I was just interested in playing the new content for the first few days.

I'm not as excited about the new content as I was hopping. Although to be fair I only have about 7 hours into it so hopefully I am going to be in for a surprise. I havent even played any PvP yet, still just running the campaign. Now that I am leveled up above 1100 I'm not getting smoked. When I first downloaded and I tried to play the campaign I felt like I was on a Heroic NF. Sat there scratching my head like, "WTF, is my shit broken?" Until I realized what the problem was. LOL

Like I said... Pull the armor out of your seasons pass collections as soon as you log on. You can level that armor (or any armor that drops now) for a year. The armor I'm wearing now can be leveled for another 8 months or so since I got it last season but will be sunset after that.

You might not be excited about the new content because you haven't played any of the new content. I can't give a review on this expansion since I don't know enough about it and what there is to do yet. But I can tell you that Europa is fucking huge and the campaign is fun. Stasis is a lot of fun to play around with and I really like how you upgrade the subclass. You have to have the Salvations Grip grenade launcher to be able to get the first upgrade (not sure why the picture isn't showing up for you?).

As far as PvP goes, 140 & 110 Hand Cannons got a buff so they should be at least viable right now. Auto Rifles are still dominate but this entire season's artifact revolves around Pulse Rifles and Scout Rifles so maybe they might be viable also? But if you go into PvP expect to see ice everywhere lol. It's actually pretty fun. You can block off choke points etc...

I know the "No Time to Explain" Plus Rifle is pretty fucking OP right now (you get it at the end of the campaign). I'm working on the catalyst right now for it. And I'm also going through the quests to open up more of the Stasis Subclass.

 

Lot of shit to do in the game. As you gain levels more things open up for you. I like the fact that you can go pick up quests on Europa and pick out specific weapons you might want.

I also love that they brought back the Omnigul strike (albeit with a different boss at the end). It's the Nightfall Ordeal this week and it's a lot of fun. Stasis is a cool subclass to play around with also.

Main thing is, much of the game doesn't open until you finish the campaign and reach 1200. Once you do those two things it really opens up but there's still things that I'm not able to access since I'm not power leveling. ALL of the new exotics are locked behind either quests or 1250 - 1280 Lost Sectors. There are no new exotics that in the wild. Every new exotic has to be earned which I honestly like. At least you know what your getting and how to get it.

 

Gotcha, I'm still running through the campaign. I forget where exactly I am at, I think I was at Praxis last night, I tried to take him down but I was weaponed up wrong, had a heavy grenade launcher. Need to change that. It was getting late so I fugured I'll wait till tonight to tackle that one.

I'm only 1122 right now, but I am starting to get higher drops now which is nice.

 

I'm still "blueing up" running through the campaign. I'm at 1171.. once I get to 12k, I'll infuse some of my 1360 gear.

 

I forget what the final boss is in the game but it has an Overload Champion at the end. I didn't have anything that dealt with Overload Champions at the time. What I didn't know at the time was that the anti barrier mods, overload mods, etc... no longer go on your weapons. They go on your armor. I had no idea what I was doing at that point and thought I'd have to restart the level. If it wasn't for my Anarchy I'd of never been able to finish it. None of the mods from the Artifact go on your weapons anymore. They go on your armor. Lesson learned.

I think I'm sitting at 1217 right now. This is what I did while leveling up to 1200. I see a lot of people running blues on their character to get the level jump and that's fine. Nothing wrong with that. But the main issue I had with that is I have my armor set up exactly like I want right now. So, as long as you have the higher level blues in your inventory or postmaster, you will continue to gain higher level blues without having to equip them. Luckily I have so many materials to level up my armor and weapons that I farmed during last season it isn't an issue for me to level all of my equipment. Once I got to a portion of the game where the enemies had ??? over their names is when I would infuse the highest level blues into my equipment.

Once you hit 1200 it really starts to slow down. You can no longer level up in the tower like you used to. Meaning you could use your Vanguard Tokens, Crucible Tokens, etc... to gain higher level equipment. It will drop at your level down to three levels below your level. So you actually have to play the game to level which is fair. Blues that drop from 1200 up are good for filling in gaps between your armor or weapons. Say you have all 1210 gear with the exception of your chest piece which is sitting at 1203... Blues will still drop at your max level and if you get a blue chest piece to drop it will fill in that gap. The only way to level past 1200 is through powerful drops or Prime Engrams.

 

One other thing to keep in mind. If you get a Prime Engram go directly to the tower and decrypt it. It will not scale as your level increases. It will be stuck at the level it was when it dropped. If you hold onto it it will be outdated in no time at all. Same thing with exotic engrams if you’re inventory is full and it goes to the postmaster. Decrypt it as soon as possible as it will also not scale.

Finally logged back in, enjoying the expansion/contraction. Up to 1188 in a day, but it's gonna be a grind from here. They did a great job easing you in to stasis.

 

Not sure if you've looked but Stasis is a lot more in depth than the other subclasses. Aspects and Fragments completely change the way that the subclass works and allows you to play it the way that suits you best.

I love the fact that they took out a huge portion of the game. It's made everything load so much faster. The new content is great and there are so many things to open up. I finally finished the quest for Lament Sword today. Pretty lengthy quest and actually a lot of fun. Also opened up enough nodes from Variks to allow me to farm for the Cloudstrike Sniper. Once you finally open enough nodes it allows you to farm a specific Empire Hunt for it. It is a rare drop and it dropped for me on about the 12 run so I felt pretty good about that. Got the run down to around 5 mins so it was a pretty quick farm

I watched a couple of the World's First Raid streams on Saturday. Deep Stone Crypt looks pretty cool.

Admittedly, I haven't ran a raid in a very long time.

 

I haven't even watched a video on it. I always like to go in blind and see what's up. I'm ready for it but a lot of the people that I play with aren't there yet.

I've been chasing god roll weapons and all the exotics that are available now. The new Lament Sword is a DPS machine if you use it correctly. It takes a little bit of practice to use. You don't just swing it like a regular sword (you can but it won't put out much damage). You have to block to "rev" it up, use three light attacks, and then a heavy attack. Holy shit... does it do an unbelievable amount of damage.

The Cloudstrike Sniper is much more straight forward to get but it takes a lot of RNG to get it once you finally get to a point that you can run the mission to get it. It took me around 12 runs to get it once I opened up the the "Europan Explorer II" node to be able to access the selectable difficulty Empire Hunt. It does a fuck ton of AOE damage and is great for clearing out adds with the lightning strike that comes down. You kill one? You kill many. It also does sustained heavy damage as long as your landing precision shots as it will create a lightning storm on successive hits.

 

I'm gonna try and work on those 2 next. Cloudstrike sounds very similar to Masterworked Trinity Ghoul. AoE damage has been great to clear adds during the story/strike missions while running solo.
