New to the site, been lurking for awhile.
You guys and gals have helped me a few times already via the search function, thank you..
I do have a question however.
I put a shell on the bed and lost the rake. Now I would like an additional 1.5 lift front and back.
3rd gen shocks and springs front and rear would give me about that much?
Probably add a leaf to stiffen the rear as well. A bit higher is ok.
3 gen suspensions are a dime a dozen on craigs list. Thoughts? Suggestions?

Shocks wont do a thing for ride height in the rear.

3rd gen front suspension will likely net you a lil over an inch on the regular cab truck in the front. You would need a new lift spring or AAL in the rear to get any lift.

Thanks, so trd 3 gen leafs on the back won’t give me any lift?

No, you would have to put a add-a-leaf in with the springs to raise the rear of the truck

@Lancelotlink, do you have the tsb springs in the back? If not, you should be able to get them under warranty, and they tend to add ~1" over the non-tsb springs.

Ok so finished It up today
TRD pro leafs off a 2020 lifted the rear up 2” almost exactly. The trd shocks lifted the front a bit over an inch.
    Looks good.
My old springs only had two leafs, trd has three.

Difficult to see a difference in those pics, the next two with the shell installed really show the effects of the trd suspension. Also notice the home paint job on the shell. Base coat clear coat, turned out ok for a first time painter.7F9BA450-D2D7-4921-A928-8B0286BB2842.jpgB2BFC82E-0530-4016-9CE4-C314FB98C294.jpg

I rarely see any regular cabs. My 1st truck was a black 1998 Tacoma single cab with a manual. Had a lot of fun in that thing

    Welcome to TW!

Yep, looks like you've done great. Paint, lift, topper & a reg. cab 4X4. If it has a MT, really rare, instead of an auto. would be perfect. Welcome to the reg. cab club.... 4 doors are for sedans & station wagons, reg. cab is the "real truck". Some chrome Tacoma, & 4X4 badges, on doors & tailgate will male it look a little more refined (less plain) looking. Congrats & welcome to the site.
