    If OP original design is a snug fit, then that new thicker battery won't fit. I have that battery as well.

    Ah, from searching this is what I found. Is this the battery that you have? @nudavinci64 @_gray_knight_

    upload_2020-11-23_9-57-22.jpg

    The design is currently for the 1800mah battery so the 2100mah battery won't fit.

    I'll try and get my hands on this version of a battery so I can design an additional variation mount to account for it. After looking into it more, I realized that the UV-5R has a new 3rd Generation, called the BF-F8HP which would still be called a UV-5R. I should have been more specific and said that the current mount only accommodates the 2nd Gen UV-5R with OEM 1800mah battery or extended 3800mah battery. I'll change the original post now.

    This is exactly what I have been looking for. I have the 2nd gen tacoma ram mounts where my AC controls are. so Im guessing I will have to use a double ball connector between this bad boy and the existing ram ball

    @JMcFly Thanks for your interest, yes the ram ball mount will need a double ball connector and also the threaded ram ball attachment. Here's a link the the threaded 1" ram ball attachment that I used.

    @supralee

    Very nice work on the printing there man, you definitely have your printer calibrated nicely. Smooth lines, etc.

    Any chance you might be able to make a mount like that for the Anytone 878 ? A lot of guys are embracing DMR now, and the Anytone 878 is sort of the defacto handheld unit. I rock one and would absolutely pay you for a mount of you were able to carve one out for the 878....

    Excellent work man!!

    Thanks! @Team Scream It's taken me a few years to work out all of the issues and each time I come up with a new design, it usually takes 4 or 5 test prototypes to get the design right.

    The Anytone 878 looks awesome, I think I could come up with a design if I could get some measurements. I'll PM you. Thanks

    I used to have access to a 3d scanner for smaller objects which was nice to get dimensions for equipment; miss having that option for an easier start to the process.

    That's awesome! I wish I had access to a 3D scanner like this. The consumer 3D scanners don't offer the kind of accuracy and resolution I would like.

    yeah the table was angled at 30 degrees and auto rotated so you got fill angular exposure for the scans

    Thank you, @supralee

    Love the mount, I made it work with my setup, but definitely forgot to keep in mind how much extra height the extended battery adds. :D
