Keystone State Thread

Not gonna lie, I was feeling it by the end. First time running in a while was a mile last week and that about killed me, but I was feeling good for some reason. Probably that spite motivator kicking in.

Maybe I'll do a 5k next week.. maybe train to run one.

I know it’s not exactly the most ideal weather but you’re very close to the dark Hollow Park Trail on the Neshaminy Creek. That’s a real pretty hike.

 

Thanks for the info Craig, Plenty of places around to walk or hike, but like I said it's about getting the ambition to go. Are they tearing up the tracks on the old Southampton rail line? I went by on Bristol road the other night and it looks like there is some construction going on. Had it blocked off and from what I could see they had put down some crushed stone.

 

All the rails have been pulled from the entire length of the line from Byberry RD to Bristol RD.
The trail from County Line RD to Bristol RD is in the construction process and the pedestrian crossing at Byberry is now completed as well.
The pedestrian crossings at County Line and Second St. Pike are being worked out.
The final connector is the length between county line & Byberry in Montco. They pulled the rails and ties about two years ago but haven’t laid Down the new trail base because the Southampton part wasn’t started.
Now that there’s been so much progress this year on it the plan is to work on that connecting section in the spring.
Once completed I’ll be able to ride from my home all the way down to the Delaware and back completely on the rail trail.

 

Hopefully it won't be to long until it is completed before I can't ride a bike anymore. Age catches up with everyone.

I have enough ambition while driving or sitting down I think I can go get this done.

I pull in the driveway after the ride home I can just make it the few feet in the door.

The only reason I go to work we can`t find anyone to do my job. Good thing I do enjoy what I do.
