The TRX4 is what I run, although much of the stock parts have been replaced. Its a great truck out of the box for trail fun. Axial SCX10, Traxxas TRX4 or Element Enduro are the ones to look at. There's a couple different versions of SCX...the OG SCX10, SCX10.2 and SCX10.3. So be aware in case you look on the used market. All are available in Ready To Run models, so pick a body shell that you like and buy that car.

One other thing to note, models above are going to have the best after market support as well as community knowledge

Lonestar RC Hobbies or Hobbytown Lewisville are good stores to visit to browse in person. Hobbytown in Dallas is pretty good too, but I find them a little pushy on the sales.

Like Jim said, LoneStar and Hobbytown are your best local bet for looking at them in person. Otherwise it’s all online, I recommend AMain Hobbies. There’s nothing on our side of town(Ftw, Burleson,Crowley) to speak of. There used to be a HobbyTown over on Hulen in the same shopping center as Chili’s and Guitar Center, but alas... it is no more.

hobby town in bedford isnt bad, their inventory is a bit lacking but i havent been there in a while. Roys in Hurst has gone downhill, they arent keeping up with the times, but they are there and have inventory.

I like to throw support over to Lonestar as much as i can, the owner is a huge supporter of local events, good dude.

I would recommend an axial 10.3. A box stock one brought home second place yesterday. The weather played a larger role than the rigs yesterday, as some wet logs def made the second to last obstacle impossible until some of the moisture disappeared.

That 10.3 platform is a beast. I’m thinking the next rc I get will be a kit so I can build it up how I want, and go more scale accurate vs comp style crawler.

If you want scale, def look into the trail finder 2. I really like that truck. Only reason I sold was to build a comp level class 1!

First race on the new M2RC Tekno truggy, and first race since March turned out well. Qualified first, and never let it go through the mains. Feels good to be back at the track. Looking forward to Truck Nationals this weekend, hopefully weather permits!

Anyone familiar with the Axial AX-10 Deadbolt? I canned the battery here at work, in our battery bin. But I cannot for the life of me remember what battery to run. Suggestions?

what motor and esc are in it? If factory brushed motor and ae-5 esc, run a 2s 7.4v lipo. Itll be slow ish but less likely to over heat.

Standard 2S Lipo with a Deans plug. I run 2200mah 35c packs in my son’s rig.

Oh yeah! Ran the YetiKiller in the SCT class. As is, didn’t change the diffs (25mil/ 1mil/ 25mil), on 2.2’s and TSL Swampers. It sure did look friggin sweet, but she didn’t corner near as well as the SCTs lol. I didn’t get lapped, but I also didn’t beat anyone. o_O
