I expect to see 3.5 V6 turbo with start stop tech for 2022 8 speed trans

Then hybrid V6 for higher trims limited and plat for 2023

    V8 is dead

Both 8s are dead. Base engine will be a TT 2GR. Basically a strengthened version of the current LS500 engine. The optional drivetrain will include a hybrid booster....more for performance than efficiency.

Remember....the LS500 lays down 442 lbs ft of torque at 1600 rpm. I'm hearing the Tundra's version with the booster is expected to have more than 600 lbs ft at under 2000 rpm

That was my first thought, looks like a Silverado HD.

If the Taco follows similar styling, there will be a lot more cutting required to fit off-road bumpers.

At least there will be more 6-lug wheel selection for us...

I personally cant wait for this to come out. Supposedly 30MPG for the hybrid v6-TT. Was looking at the Powerboost F-150s at 24MPG but I will wait for Toyota before spending money.

Me too. But that one image with no camo is not promising.

    Yeah.

I agree with the other post that it has a resemblance to the 5th gen runner.

I guess Toyota is doing the "bulldog" look.

We shall see I just can’t get a picture of the current Silverado HD mashed with a titan out of my head. Fingers crossed cause I was gonna jump from my taco finally.

I ended up talking to a rep last winter. They also have a new hybrid engine in the works. Basically a shit ton of torque and 500 hp. Something like 25 mpg. From what I gathered they want to replace the 4.7 with something more fuel efficient. I definitely would be interested in for my work truck.

I’m stuck between replacing taco with a current gen tundra soon or wait till the next generation comes out. I’m not liking what I’m looking at on the new one. Only advantage seems to be maybe fuel mileage at this point.

Once you sit inside, you'll probably like the next-gen Tundra a lot better than the current one. Because the current platform is 13 years old, the new one will seem markedly improved in terms of ride quality, handling, sound deadening, and better tech features.
