Just installed MBRP 3” Catback on my 2021 OR and the drone was so bad I went back and replaced the muffler with Magnaflow 14”... well it’s gotten a lot better. I love the exterior sound but the drone is still noticeably bad on the highway.

I understand there will be some droning with any aftermarket exhaust.

am I SOL at this point or is there any way I can get it quieter?

FYI... I don’t know if the tip makes any difference but the shop installed some no name brand tip on it.

    thank you all in advance.

Unfortunately V6's just sound like ass, especially cold start and on the highway.

I'd just sell your cat back as is and go back to stock. Stick to intakes if you want more noise.

Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
Personally I like Toyota's performance exhaust system - nice tone but not annoying on long freeway trips.

Yeah I think I should’ve gone with the TRD one. I had the shop throw away the stock exhaust (don’t yell at me) and don’t feel like spending $ on another system.

Would a resonator tip help? Or chopping the pipe?

I went with the TRD Performance Exhaust and TRD Intake on my 2017 TRD-O/R when I ordered from factory, I've been very happy with it...

I’m going to add the Vibrant resonator in a few days. I’ll post an update after the test run..

I dont know man. My borla sounds amazing, no drone on highways and does not sound like ass at all. Adds a nice little growl.

which one exactly did you get?

I tried a couple flow-masters and christ they sounded awful, like the muffler had fallen off awful. Ended up with just turn down pipe and the aFe w/scoop and it's great....I really miss not having that sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet v8 sound.

Borla s-type catback. I got it about a year ago and still love listening to it.
