Stock Height Help

So I have an 07 Trd Off road but when I bought it it came with differnt shocks than the yellow stock Bilsteins.

I noticed that all other tacomas I parked next to are about 1" higher than me. Can this be the shocks I am running?

 

Generally speaking - the shocks do not (especially rear shocks) affect ride height or lift amount.

The only difference (in the front) would be if an aftermarket strut has a different coil seat position than the stock bilsteins.

...and many other variables. Cab size, bed size, tire pressure, gas tank full or empty, etc etc etc

Did you get the rear leaf spring TSB done? If not, and those other Tacos did, that right there could be the difference.

 

Can it be the prings are just set in?

 

Are you implying that your truck's butt is sagging as it's getting older?

It could be. There have been plenty around with the rear springs frowning over time. Since you're "stock", what's the height of your fenders directly over the hubs? You can compare to the stock column for mine as a comparison (this was after 5+ years without the rear leaf TSB...completely stock).

 

Ummm dumb question but what it the rear TSB? I just got my Taco a few weeks ago so Im new to this.

Does it cost money to get done, Why is it needed?

How many leafs in the rear springs?? 3=no tsb, 4=tsb

 

Does this dealer fix this for free?

I didnt get mine from a yota dealer. it was a ford dealership

 

TSB stands for Technical Service Bulletin. It's instructions to a dealership on how to fix a problem if an owner complains about it. In this case, U.S. Tacomas only got 3 leafs in the rear leaf pack (Canadians got 4) which resulted in the truck riding on the bump stops when the bed was loaded (or sometimes when just going over speed bumps). The rear leaf spring TSB added a 4th leaf. TSBs are only fixed during the initial 3 yr/36K mile warranty. So you're likely out of luck.
