I bought a skid shipped to ca...$40 shipping. Buddy decided he wanted same skid. Emailed to add 2nd skid...was emailed back in hours. 2nd skid added with no extra shipping and I was invoiced that day. Seems like SOS did me a solid.

Picked up my skids on Saturday. Eddy was a nice guy. If I ever get around to getting a rear bumper, I'll absolutely give him first option!

Just received my bed bars today! Ordered 11/6 so just a little over 2 weeks!:woot: They look pretty good minus a few chips probably from shipping, no biggie. Unfortunately, they didn’t send me any hardware... shot them an email. Hopefully they get back to me soon.

I mean my brother and I'll will take a refund or replacement front skids if we are at the point of admitting there was a mess up. I'd like to cash In on this great customer service.

Eddy has all the photos he's needed since at least July.

He's got my PayPal and address.

I didn't see it in this thread. What's wrong with your skid?

That's cool, and I'm happy to get skids there - I will probably have to wait for the next sale, MAYBE do an in store pickup next summer TBD.

But...hear me out here...SOS was respected here, and is a decent company with good people. Maybe if the owners came in and explained what happened and owned up to it and gave us their corrective actions so that it won't happen again, it would earn back some customer base? Plus instill some faith into people looking at future purchases?

I'll keep it short. Ordered full skids and sliders for a Tacoma and 4runner. Both ifs skids don't fit. The bend/ length is off on the 4r and my Tacoma is off half a bolt.

Communication was fine at first, they tried to make sure it was being assembled properly. I get it. I build aircraft engines for a living. I might have turned a few wrenches. But I get the due exercise.

Then it got pinned back on the truck having open tolerances and that's why it doesn't fit. Which is odd because I have a rci skid that bolts up fine.

Emails were going back and forth until it came to the point where clearly it was messed up. Emails stopped. Started calling. Always went to voice mail. After a few weeks of this going it was clear what was going on.

Months later a brand ambassador told me he knew what was going on and they just weren't going to do anything about it.

Not saying everything they make is junk. I'm sure 95% of it is fine. And mistakes happen. But its how you handle them which dictates what kind of company you are. Just sharing my account so folks can make their own choices on how they want to spend money and what risks they want to take. In no way am I saying not to buy from SOS. I don't care how you spend your money.

    More on the trucks.

-4 runner. About half an inch off from being bolted the radiator bar. Was jacked all the way up by the front lip and cranked down with a long bar, the front lip could only get within 1/8" and the back towards the bend didn't budge.

    IMG_20200701_172127.jpg

    - Tacoma. All the bolt holes were maxed out in all the outer limits. With straps on it hooked up to a fixed point its still half a hole off. Per SOS
    IMG_20200701_140114.jpg

    Fine.

Here's the last email I got from Eddy, with follow up emails, then tons of phone calls. But just know that if you spend this kind of money in May, you might still not have skids in November.

This has been going on for months. Eddie has known about it and I have reached out to him enough. He hasn't gotten back once to make it right, yet these brand ambassadors keep preaching quality and customer service.

That's my story, you guys can do what you'd like with the info

you bring up a great point, if only a company would come out and OWN the fuck up. Problem is, it's expensive in our current culture to own your mistakes. Just look at the court system, if you don't own it you have a chance of getting away with it. Or if a company owns a mistake, then they need to deal with lawsuits.
