Absolutely, hard work and dedication definitely pay off.

And keep those details flowing in the thread maybe we can have a few others head out that way too. Maybe not you never know.

It definitely is. The worst tourist offenders and dangerous drivers usually have out of state plates from places that touch the ocean, if you know what I mean. I'm not trying to gatekeep, but the people-y problem is becoming an issue that affects our time there.

I've been going out there several times a year since I was 5 or 6. The last 5 years or so have been increasingly annoying during high tourist times. That's why we have moved our trips to times like after the school year starts and plan the bulk of our time there on weekdays. I don't think there is another state that would give us what we want so easily, though. I also think there is a pretty hard limit to how may people the good areas can actually handle. The mountain terrain and weather patterns are a big barrier to entry for people who are weak of soul and anyone annoyingly prone to city-type whining.

Precisely when my roommate and I usually plan trips, when the school year starts since everyone is working, kids at school, and not on vacation.

Not sure why he opted for June this year, but hopefully it's not bad.

Too many Jeep renegades trying to do things. Are overbuilt four-door wranglers with people trying to drive them in flip-flops with no recovery gear and no water. while it's hard on equipment, I do enjoy a lot of the harder wheeling just because there's a lot less people. But it would be nice to do some of the scenic areas without having 17 instagrammers in front of you

Yep. I’ve gone from June-august before. Now i pretty much only go September to may. I also try to avoid the tourist areas anyway.

sometimes he wears actual sandals. That was actually brought up I think a year or two ago and one of their articles and they mentioned well they don't officially condone wearing open-toed shoes, they understand that Rick knows the risks. I think it's funny since he's Mr Jeep himself

I guess Pewe is a kindred soul when it comes to wood paneled XJs. I swear to Odin that I'd give up most of my toes to have mine back.
