    Good morning Georgia.

There are two things I want to get done for my truck. First is get rid of the awful squeak of the ome leaf springs by isolating them. the second is to trim my fenders and fender flares.
I don’t have the knowledge or confidence or correct tools to do either by myself. Do we have a proposed mod day coming up (I know COVID and all) or is anyone able to help me out on an off day? I’m willing to compensate beer and pizza or cash if needed. Don’t want to go to a shop. I really want to be hands on especially with the leaf springs so I can learn.

How are you planning on isolating the leaf springs? EPDM liner, plastic isolators, felt pads, or something else?

I can help. Just curious how you wanted to tackle the project.

Not sure I have the confidence to cut the fenders on mine (or your truck, for that matter), but I do have the tools. I'm sure we could put some painters tape, draw it out and go to town.

I have seen this product pop up in a several conversations. I still want to and should do some more research though to make sure it’s the best option.

This might not be the best option, so I’m all ears.

I could probably help as well. A couple of guys wanted to tune their CB antennas as well. Perhaps, we could have a mod day next month.

That stuff is basically the EPDM pond liner, but in strip form. It should work good.

I plan to take mine apart and paint with EZ Slide (graphite paint) after sanding off the surface rust. I was going to replace the bushings while I'm at it since I'll already have the leafs off, but don't think I really want to mess with those. Especially since i have no indication that they are worn.

Don't get overly intimidated by the leaf pack. As long as you have 2 larger C-clamps (1 will also work if it's all you have) disassembly is a breeze. You may even be able to get by without taking them off the truck but it would definitely be easier to clean them up if they're off.

I guess I've been pretty lucky with my OME leafs, but I also avoid mud like it's the plague.

Too many to list. I’m lazy
I don’t typically talk about work on here and it’s not Tacoma related but.. I got my ass out from behind the desk today and had the pleasure of working on these 2 beauties today. Feels good to use the old muscle memory again haha. Windshield for the R8 and a custom cut door window for the 51 Chevy :cool:7CF05210-C280-4A76-8B95-A71F72815A17.jpgD09C9B91-8574-45C4-BFFA-CCF35AE71D9B.jpg C11F0318-4CC6-4DB3-A78D-61F40EB29FE4.jpg0DEFD713-1E75-45B7-822D-9228BF2129BE.jpg

Can probably do this all Sunday, I live off of Hooper Rd just off of Lane Drive right off of Alabama Hwy. I'm between Rock Springs and Ringgold basically. Let me verify with the wife but she should be fine I just had to replace a fucking camshaft in her 2014 Wrangler, ordered her the hothead headliner fir her hardtop and did a front bumper cut on her Jeep so she can't complain too much. I will be throwing my old CB in and dug out the old SWR meter last night. What type of cut are you wanting to do? Still getting unpacked so my garage is destroyed and haven't built my shop out back yet, haven't even clear cut the area yet lol. Have plenty if tools, large air compressor and plenty if cusswords if shit doesn't go smoothly lol

Just ordered some JBL GX series speakers from Best Buy for 50% off. Part of their Black Friday deals. I'm sure I could deal hunt and find better speakers, but these sound pretty good IIRC and get great reviews. Plus, if they end up being terrible, no hassle to return.

Bonus, I free up some space in one of my garage cabinets. I tried installing some Kenwood speakers a few years ago and they were absolute garbage. They got returned, but I had door adapters for speakers that I couldn't give away. I guess since Crutchfield includes them for free, most folks didn't need them. So now I get to put them to use finally!

As long as covid doesn't crash the party again, I'd like that. Probably gonna pull the trigger on a new leafpack around new years, and would definitely need some assistance with install

I mean I'll still hold one, Covid doesn't really scare me, I social distance as it is normally so nothing has really changed much. But I'll make a thread next week and whichever weekend gets the most votes in January is when it'll be

    Same crap everyone else got
I found one of lower ball joints leaking grease so I was going to order a set of moog LCA's and replace both arms instead of just the ball joints. so I'd be down for this for sure. There's a set of 886 springs from an Bama member i'm buying and we will me up around Christmas time when he's here in GA so I could swap those out too while I'm at it.
