ya, I haven’t dared to open that thread yet, it will require some reading.

that’s what I ended up with, got an end of season we don’t want this here anymore sale.

I agree, turkey is not all that special, maybe that’s why we have a holiday around it?

Found mine at Hannaford with the other fresh herbs. Well I think it said crystallized ginger, looks like candy to me.

Miata is great because you’re learning momentum rather than having power to compensate. The problem is the prices have gone through the roof for even crusty examples.

A C5 would make for a decent value track car, especially if you can find a non-Z06 fixed roof car. Values are in the toilet and if you don’t care about cosmetics you can scoop a good car on the cheap but if you were going to build a track car there are a lot of parts worth decent money you may or may not use.

I missed the concert and music discussion sadly. I haven’t been to a concert since 2014, I think which seems way too long ago. It was the Jimmy Eat World “Futures” 10 year anniversary tour. Most of the music I listen to these days none of my friends listen to so I don’t have much in the way of concert buddies. I’m also kinda over getting squashed in a GA show. I was never a big festival person although I regret never getting to a Warped Tour. I did Skate Fest in Worcester in the early 2000s and then Projekt Revolution in 2007. They have their draws but they’re just exhausting, especially having to move back and forth between stages. Plus, I can’t deal with the smell of weed, so yeah.

I’ve easily seen 100+ bands live over the years, and seen most of my favorite all-time songs performed live at least once so I’m good there.

Went racing tonight. First time back since covid. Did like 5 or 6 races. They had some sessions at league speed tonight for people that have been in it and their friends. I'm exhausted lol it was also supertrack Tuesday. I had 11 races on my account this whole time lol

I had a ticket to Municipal Waste and Testament in May..I'd be a little surprised if Testament keeps it up. Two members were infected overseas in February..one being Chuck Billy, as well as his wife. Add in that Chuck is a cancer survivor also..

True true. The 3 days NEMHF was at the Palladium in Worcester so no lodging unless you rent a room nearby. I only went 2 days tops, as you could buy each day separate.

My brother in law has gone every year..

Soon as that first howl by Phil on GST hits, you know you're in for something. Imagine having that up full blast and not knowing what's coming

Yeah, you and me are due for a show once things straighten themselves out my man..and yeah the weed thing never did it for me. S

If places will let you out for a toke break, most of us would gladly go there instead. That being said, as I have aged I don’t think it’s fair for folks to spark up in a crowd.

If you go to a music festival or show, and can't be around weed you are going to have a problem. I've not been to a concert in my life where someone didn't light a joint. I haven't even been to any since legalization.

You can't separate the scene IMO, and getting worked up about it just makes you look like an asshole.

I know YOU weren't saying that, but I'm saying in general.

I understand people don't like it, and thats their right and I see nothing wrong with that. But to expect people to change for you, when its been going on since before my daddy was born...

That's the problem with things these days IMO. Wear your mask and it won't be a problem

Adam Sandler is very disappointed in all of you people who don't think Turkey is worthy.

Doesn't matter; regular ginger is super easy to find, and making candied ginger is absurdly simple.
Slice ginger thin, boil until cooked through, drain (saving some of the liquid). Add sugar, ginger, and reserved liquid into a small saucepan over low heat and simmer while stirring until the water's 98% gone. Transfer to a cookie rack to cool. Easy peasy. :notsure:

No worries; I can picture Kate Upton or ScarJo in my head at will.

I believe crystalized ginger is different. But yes, making candied ginger would be easy.

Honestly that Alton Brown recipe I linked is the best turkey I ever cooked, but the real standout of that meal was something far more simple that I got from that same Food Network episode- the sweet corn bread bread pudding. I am telling you, this recipe will blow your socks off: https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/alton-brown/sweet-corn-bread-pudding-recipe-1949555

My brother in law is an insane chef, has a food blog and if he didn't smoke so much pot and drink so much could probably be a famous chef. He told me that was the best "stuffing" if you want to call it that he has ever had. It's crazy how good it is.

I think the only real difference is the storage; candied ginger is frequently stored in simple syrup; candied is usually stored dry.

And :puke: to that corn bread pudding. That's right up there with sweet potato casserole on my "nope" list

Not particularly; I make it every year (separately from the bird) for the people who can't live without it, but I can take it or leave it.

    And yes.

The stock NA Miatas go to auto-x events and just slap peepees all day long. They're so freaking fast it isn't fair!

Though there was some dude that has a LS swapped Miata that couldn't even go in a straight line without spinning out.. I think it threw the weight balance off a little bit, and having like 185/40/16 tires, there's less traction than a Prius.

The idea of a C5 Corvette with the targa top makes me moist. I might have to rearrange my fleet and trade out a couple cars for a C5
Is that at F1? That place looked super fun.
Username checks out. I watched a crash, then I giggled.
I'm so down! Who is ready to lose!!?!?!?! I AM!!!!!
