I first took the bed off in July.

Maybe it'll be done by next year.

Yeaah, these projects always ALWAYS take longer than we ever expect.

My dad took apart his Austin healey in the 80's ... and we finally got the body back together in 2006

Got the engine rebuilt in 02, took another 4 years to get the body painted and together.

Well, the original engine spun a bearing before the warranty was out. They were nice enough to send over a new engine - in pieces. Dad had a mechanic assembled it and he did a poor job, so it burnt oil like mad. Mom and Dad went to take a trip and got about 2 hours from the house, then relazlied the the case of oil they brought wasn't enough

So dad went to the junkyard, found a new 302 from a 70's lincoln that went down the street from the daeler and got totaled. $300 for everything. Swapped it in and ran it for decades.

Its just an edelbrock something or another, 4 barrel. I think I got it better last time I worked on it, but it still needs more fiddling. It falls on its face after a shift, so mayber something with the accelerator pump - or its not setup right to begin with. Unfortunately its 300 mi away so I can't tinker with it without a trip.

Is it bad that everyone at work keeps telling me I look like I need a vacation? Apparently I’m looking worn the fuck out all the time these days

Yeah, I just need to spend more time with it. I used a vacuum gauge over labor day and got it closer.

Its a heck of a car, at least for the 60's. Definitely fun to drive, small, maneuverable, and very very pretty. Windshield is a little short - if i sit up straight, my eyes line up with the top of it  Dad passed away last year, so she's my baby to take care of now. My goal is to get it to where I can do a cross country trip in it.

Probably a sign to take some time to chill. Other people have good eyes.

Hard part is actually relaxing when taking time off. I'm in the middle of a week off right now, and I'm still spending all day working on my own shit
