I think this is the key thing to understand. There is no single table that maps pedal to throttle. The ECU takes into account many maps at once, likely even some we don’t have access to yet.

He is saying with the same shift points in ECT and D, but with more aggressive throttle limits for ECT, he is observing earlier shifts in ECT. One would expect later shifts in ECT if the shift tables directly mapped to accelerator pedal, because it would take less pedal to get the same throttle angles, so the driver would not be depressing the pedal as far.

It sounds like ECU Unlocks and Tune Packs are needed?

I clarified with Mat yesterday; it's the same as it always has been. ECU unlock ($75 for 4 credits) and tune pack are separate purchases and requirements if you want to be able to edit or possess 2.0 maps for the ECU version in question

For the record, I don't think it's bullshit but I'm just one guy.

And another point, I'm genuinely confused about how it seems that people who have been here on the forums and active here for a very long time, and so are presumably well versed by now on how vF works....these people are now confused and upset about the fact that ECU unlocks/credits and the relevant tune packs are different and yet required purchases...after MONTHS of this being the norm?? Lol

Don't get me wrong, it'd be a benefit to everyone if buying a tune pack got you the ECU unlock, that'd be a cheaper option, but it's not the case and never has been...

Is there something that I missed? Because my email traffic with Mat just yesterday only demonstrates that the system is how it's been since launch.

If you bought a flash kit / are original flash kit customer and upgraded to vF you don't have to pay / purchase the tune pack.

and vF comes with credits for 1 ECU so you don't have to buy credits either.

    @OVTune
    I’m one of those 200+ messages/email.
When I changed laptops in vf tuner it's not paired with this new computer. Vft won’t register to my account and/with the 3.5 tune pack. I get this message. Please reset or fix for me sir. Thanks and have a good holiday.

@OVTune, I have two tickets in one for a new master key as windows did an update and changed my system ID (21611) and one for I bought credits and the have not showed up in my VFtune software (order 7661). I have a couple of people waiting on me for tunes because of these issues. Would like to be able to give them a time frame I will have this resolved.

    Thanks Glenn Relethford

    Also,

there are some changes being made to our website.
We have our forum back up, and while it is barebones right now, this will be the place where we migrate all information about vF Tuner. It will just be easier to navigate, easier to find what you need.

Use the M+W 3.1, look in my signature. Best one yet. Regular and Premium are there to choose.

I'm using M+W 3.1 that Mooseditty17 made for 04A61, and it is by far the best I've flashed since I started with 1.5. Kreg and AJ did a great job of giving us a choice depending upon what mood you are in. Pretty sure you'll enjoy it.

Can you shoot those files to me or direct me where I can find them? I tried searching the thread but my search-fu sucks today. I have a couple trucks with 04A61 to tune this week or next. Would like to give them the option or have it on standby for later. Thanks
