That's either a heartwarming or really sad song depending on how you look at it; I can tolerate it once or twice year, but it's no upbeat enough to make it into my regular "in the truck" rotation...

It was not Oliver Twist; That specific song was about a little boy from a poor family whose mom was very sick and he wanted to buy her some really nice shoes in the even of the high likelihood that she passed away that night...

It is not a bad song at all, but not exactly in keeping with the upbeat Christmas songs I like to crank in the truck when I'm cruising around at night with the Christmas lights on!

There's a stupid but funny song called "Santa's gonna come in a pickup truck" (or something along those lines); I believe it's sun by either Alan Jackson or Randy Travis, with Alvin and the Chipmunks providing commentary. At the end of the song, all three chipmunks start commenting on how Santa couldn't fit all of those presents in a pickup truck, and one of them suggests that he bring them in a 747; The frustrated singer then says that the chipmunks are missing the point of the song, and it ends with the four of them bickering...

My first job in high school was a clerk in a hardware store in a strip mall. Of course they played Muzak non-stop. I remember those 9-hour shift Saturdays during the holidays, I had to endure non-stop Muzak versions of Christmas songs- drove me to drink!:drunk: If you think some Christmas songs are bad, imagine them in Muzak- over and over and over and over and over...…………...:drunk:

One of many reasons why I refuse to work retail! I can't help but wonder what Black Friday is going to be like this year, what with the pandemic and all..

A decade in retail killed it for me as well.

The only christmas album I like is Bad Religion’s “Christmas Songs” and I like that because it’s Bad Religion not because it’s Christmas.

Yeah I always found it a little depressing. Especially if you have all the kids in the truck having Xmas music sing alongs and then that one slips in. Always kills the vibe, and brings along lots of questions from the little ones haha

And now one of my two least favorite Christmas songs of all time is on the radio...

    :annoyed:

Paul McCartney is the one Beatle who’s songs were rather mediocre after he went solo!
