What snow chains do you have?

Looking to keep a pair in the truck when I drive up in the sierras just in case. I have falken wild peaks so don’t anticipate needing to use them but it is required to carry chains in bad weather.

 

I have peerless autotrac chains.

Very easy to get on and off, and have worked great for me in snow/ ice.

 

Awesome where did you get them from? Those do look a lot easier to deal with

 

I’m pretty sure Amazon. There is a few different part numbers, so make sure to look up which one will fit your tire size on their website.

I'm not going through the pain in the neck of putting chains on unless they are v-bar;



California is weird;
Looks like there are only very specific "R3" conditions and classes that would require chains on every vehicle, otherwise it's over 6000lbs and 2wd that need them..

But what do I know, I live in Canada.

 

You are still required to have them in the vehicle anytime its snowing even if conditions do not required they be fitted.

Will be watching this. I'm moving coast to coast for work in the coming months and want to keep a set of chains with me in case they're required.

 

I live in Maine the chains are on my tractor. My commute to work was 50 miles starting at 5AM Get real snow tires you'll be fine.

 

There are some places where chains are required to be in the vehicles or you're not allowed through the passes. Doesn't matter what tires you're running, chains required in the rig.
