The video in the thread I started/linked provides a good idea of how the rock got there and it's logical for that purpose. Don't want to get all worked up over it but all the pieces fall into place.

Just got done watching my first ever Youtube "overlanding" vid. lol

I wonder if the construction firm took into account the fines they are about to receive will be more then the fuel savings they gained by filling in the water crossing?

Or considered them into the price of the quote when bidding for the job.

My wife used to work for a large construction company as their environmental coordinator. Trust me when I tell you they don't think of fines unless they have someone pointing out the possibility. Which this firm obviously didn't or they could have just got a permit to alter and restore the drainage.

Hi SOCAL! From Arizona and will be visiting in Riverside later this week and was wondering if there were any day trip plans maybe Friday or Saturday. Avid wheeler first time Tacoma owner. Want to show my Mom the fun of a simple day trip as she has never experienced it before. Nothing too wild as it's a new rig and don't want any pee stains - yet.

Stock 2021 Tacoma TRD Sport. Want to eventually overland it out.

    Thoughts and suggestions always welcome!

    Thx!

Borrego springs is a cool quick trip, leads you to the "mini grand canyon". Gotta have 4wd, the sand was super soft last time. (Had to pull a wrx through that sand for 2 miles:rofl:)

Fonts Point. Super easy trip but worth the drive. Might be busy out there over the holiday.

Was just out there with a group of trucks Saturday through Monday and it was super busy on Saturday, but Sunday and Monday were pretty mellow since everyone probably headed home coming off the weekend.

Thx PupDrew! I’ll look into it! Is stock (no oversized tires) ok to hit this trail?

Yeah you don’t need anything crazy for most trails around the borrego springs area

awesome... want to enjoy the outdoors but also know I’m not setup yet. I’m an avid wheeler but also one who’s been around the block to know limitations of a stock vehicle.

I’m thinking maybe Borrego or Cleghorn Ridge!! Cleghorn Ridge may be our best bet.

Well shoot! We can change it to Saturday if interested. I’m here through Sunday.

I know I sound like a knucklehead but I’ve never wheeled in this Tacoma (it’s 2 weeks old) much less ever wheeled in Cali. I’m a previous avid jeeper and full size wheeler in AZ. Been seeing great things on the Tacoma and the community that comes with owning a Tacoma (reminds me of the Jeep life) and want to dive into all aspects of it.

Mom and I lost Pop 2 years ago. He was a heavy car and restoration guy. Made damn near every car show known to man at one point or another. Mom misses that brotherhood feeling. I never got a chance to show Pop the 4 wheel life, I want to introduce her to the close nit 4wheeling/overland family feel no matter what state you’re in.
