I’m usually not a fan of small dogs but Harry is a pretty cool looking dude. Maybe 1/2 chihuahua and 1/2 min pin. Either way he is a Pimp

Hello David, yes he is all of that and more. Don't know exactly what's all in his mix, chihuahua, dachshund, min pin, rat terrier, but it seems everybody has an opinion on him. Heck, he might even be related to the dog in your profile pic! He definitely draws a lot of attention wherever we go.

I talked to the ACO today and he has an owner, I told him that if the owner doesn’t want him or if they decide that it’s not a good home to let me know.

Do a DNA test on him. I finally did one on Annie since I was curious about her background. Wasn't the combo I had pictured, though.

I don’t have photos but I went to unwrap the top layer of stretch bandage on Athenas splint because it got wet today and she would wimper and pull away, so after about 20 minutes of gingerly cutting and gentle pulling we got the stretch bandages off of her foot and could see sores on her leg from where the tape held the gauze on.

We decided to take her to the emergency vet to treat the sores, get x-rays to see if the pain was from sores or if she re-broke her foot, and to get a fresh bandage applied. After about 90 minutes we were able to come home.
X-rays looked good, she’s on track to get the splint removed next week (7 days from today, Wednesday), her toes aren’t super straight but they are less than 1/16” out of alignment should straighten more as they heal.
Somehow she managed to break her splint, I think it happened 4-5 weeks ago because the regular vet (who didn’t apply the splint) said something about the emergency vet using a 2 piece splint and they thought it was odd.

When they took all of the bandage off Athena has sores all the way down her foot, some so bad that they’re bleeding and some infection was squeezed out, therefor she will be prescribed an antibiotic and she’s spending the night at the vet (no charge) to let everything dry up before they re-bandage and splint her.

That's how I got my Colby Pitbull puppy, the shelter workers keep winking & mouthing "take her home"...

:wink wink: for adopting your newfound pal! If you take it to vet for shots plus any health related matters and register/license, it trumps the former owner.

My lil' buddy. Miniature Schnauzer. Made in China. Came home with me when I returned at completion of work contract.

He needs to be groomed again. Non-shedding needing upkeep, but I don't have hair on everything.

When you’re stuck in quarantine due to exposure from a coworker with COVID. This year’s been a wild ride, but I’m thankful for a face like this to hang out with. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

You wouldn't believe the Chinese dogs being brought to Canada. They eat them over there so groups are rescuing them and bringing them to Canada.

Yes, there are some areas of China where dog is common food. Wasn't many years ago, China was unable to produce enough food for the population. The practice began during that time.

China, to my knowledge, does not have Humane Society or Shelters like in the USA. I saw many feral dogs and cats running about. I was in a large city, population about 20-25M.

It is a different culture. I'm not saying their culture is better, just saying its different. What is normal to China is repulsive to Westerners. On the other hand, we do things in our culture that they think are repulsive.

Many of those "rescue" groups have good intentions with poor execution. Some are fronts for sucking in big donations to support their cause, but use donated goods or volunteers. This allows significant pocket lining.
