hope to see the parts in the next couple weeks- my time line before the event is getting cramped- have appointment on the 30th for the 488 re-gear front and rear with the ARB locker in back, then install HH, then install shock relocate, then finish final details and still want to do a proper shakedown.

yea was meant to be up against the cab and bolt into the rails- but my bed bolts were rusted solid so had to come up with different plan. I will get back to the rusted/frozen bolts after , later, or some other time. I really like how it turned out

I modified the holder and it now fits like a glove! Also, spent a little extra time and got the floor jack mounted up and secure. The rack is now 90% complete but is ready for this weeks adventure!





Mocking the floor jack up. It's the smaller 1.5 ton HB special mounted using a Stewarts Raceworks mount.

 

yea thats nice- mine was designed for 16 tires and also has a place for one of those jacks which I opted to not buy from him as part of the deal . Have to air down the 285/75/r17 to get them to fit. I have onboard air so that is not such a big deal. I also made some custom cuts to it so I could fit the recovery gear box.

 

Why's the tire not fit? Looks like it uses a strap to secure it?

 

oh the 17's fit just have to air it down to get it in there- the tire you see in the recent pic is a 16 that fits perfect leftover from my old set. I do have a matching 17. I plan on taking the 2 spares to baja. It would be nice to pick up another matching SCS 17 -38 3.5bs but that is not in the plan a this moment. The 16 will be the back up spare. I may be able to sell the 16 trd baja rim and toyo RT with 60% on it but that will only cover the cost of a rim.

DK vs TC LCAs... Sway me please.

 

Assuming you mean stock length?

DK uses a ball joint now instead of a uniball. They also use derlin bushings as oppsed to the softer material TC uses. If you're looking at the standard TC LCAs, you'll loose ground clearance due to the ball joint adaptor design.

What shocks are you running? The TC kit comes with a better bump stop spacer for the application.

Current setup is: 2.5 RR Kings. Camburg new style sealed Uniball UCAs. TC Gussets all around.

I did notice the DK's had the BJ's now.. IDK how I feel about that.. I guess that's why I'm here.

The Delrin Bushings in the DK's sound more appealing though too..

I'm currently just running Wheelers Superbumps.

It's kind of Uniball VS Delrin.. lol

They changed the design because of how the trucks drive with the uniball. They track differently and wasn't preferred for street characteristics. Also, a quality ball joint will probably last longer than a uniball and be MUCH quieter throughout the life so pick you poison.

Derlin is cool but so is the polyurethane? that TC uses. Both are going to be significantly better than stock due to design. Derlin will give more road feedback.

 

Why? i know they had fitment issues with aftermarket cv boot on the first truck but iirc they're all good now . And they have what he wants with the delrin/uniball combo and usually do black friday sales. I have their UCAs and have no complaints
