To be honest, if I had the money to blow I'd probably push to a Vagabond. But there are many other things I'd rather buy first and am still happy with the GFC over an RTT for our camping situation with the kid.

 

At least being there alone gives you a less chance of getting sick, unless you are asymptomatic and are the one passing it to others. Have you or Kirsten been tested or done an antibody test?

 

Yeah, pretty much my plan as well. Although, since I don't have a partner, an antibody test would be interesting to have results for.

In your situation, unless both of you are asymptomatic, you are probably clear.

That is a big unknown but I suspect it is much higher than we guess.

Thanksgiving get togethers are an example.

I for sure had it like 3 weeks ago, and probably gave it to my room mate/coworker who got a positive test result (that was taken 12 days ago). though his quarantine is over, and mines been close to 3 weeks since symptoms so im long done too

 

IMO, unless you are gong to do this outdoors (seems unlikely considering the time of year)this is still very risky behavior.

My siblings and I (and their partners) were strongly wanting to all gather. We had considered options of getting tested beforehand and then quarantining until the planned gathering. But in the end, we all decided that it just was not worth risking one or all of our health over. I would feel horrible if one of us came down ill because of it.

It was a very tough decision to make because it is by far our most favorite event, but in the end we decided not to do it. And there will be plenty of future opportunities to do this.

I can understand though for your situation, it is very challenging to say no to the parental units, a factor we don't have to consider.

most of my friends just had a sore throat or lost taste and smell for a bit. I guess i have inferior genes, felt like a sinus infection/sore throat for a week, and lost taste/smell for a week or so. Mine seemed to linger longer than many other friends.

It was a play on words, but is true, what I heard. Just as you heard that herd immunity is a (good) thing.

I was curious on timing. Since we don't really know the incubation periods, there is no way to know when you acquired it. Afterall, it now appears as though at least three of the people with us on our adventure have since gotten sick with the virus.

im pretty sure i got it from a massive holloween house party, symptoms started torward the end of the 1st week in nov, then persisted through the second week
