made a quick run to the store to pick up an extra loaf of bread (TURKEY SAMMICHES!!!! :angrygirl: ) and it wasn't terribly busy but there was still a decent crowd for 3pm on a wednesday. folks were still buying turkeys. frozen turkeys. the day before thanksgiving. like...what in the hell is the plan here? how are you gonna get that big bastard thawed out in time?!?!

and I'm officially off work until monday. Got nothing planned, just taking it easy so I signed up for a free week of HBO. Midway is on now. Might dive into Chernobyl later.

My gas meter has a slight leak, this might get interesting. Wife called it in, utility company will be out within the hour. Hopefully an easy fix, my meter box is old and rusty. Good thing we are not cooking tonight and tomorrow.:annoyed:

    So.
    Full blown moron today.
    Back story.

Apparently when you lease a vehicle some people don’t think you need to do maintenance.

So when you don’t,,,,, shit happens.

Truck got towed in. Died on turnpike.

    truck has 80,000 miles.

No where in our records has he been back for any maintenance.

So the truck does not sound good turning over.
So we pull it into the shop and pick it up in the air.

and this is what we see

    1D28A26F-A3BD-40B2-8BCA-0B75FC3FB0F4.jpg

So Huston we have a problem.

    Here is the moron part.

we call him and tell him He blew up his motor.

    and his response is.

YOU PEOPLE HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOUR TALKING ABOUT.

    Number two

Guy wants his snow tires put on
    And a complete recon.

This is how he packed the tires in his rav.

    B0A8BA6E-AF23-40E1-BC82-59ADF8BF1397.jpg

So the car is full of dog hair and filthy and junk through the car.
Recon refused to do it until he cleaned the car out cause they will throw everything in the dump from the car..

it was like that all day long

Sadly, this is not the first time I have heard about someone driving a vehicle until it stops. People with more money than sense.

Many years ago when I worked at the garage, a Malibu was pulled in on the hook. The Mr of the house told the Mrs of the house to rev the engine when the alternator light would go on after starting it. Except that day it wasn’t the alternator light... That poor 3.8L had a nice new window in the side of the block...

I've heard good thing from a few folks about it
did you drop something down there?
    Amazon prime / fire tv

just had a hiccup but i think i got it figured out. put the movie on pause so i could go cook dinner and when i came back i couldn't get the "resume" option to come up. only choice to watch was for hbo max not just hbo. different channel, different subscription. on to amazon. cancel hbo. start hbomax free trial. now resume is an option. why i could watch it an hour ago from one channel and then couldn't AFTER i started the free preview is beyond me. so if you want to try it just start with hbomax and save yourself a little hassle.

    :hungry: wahtcha fixin?

so....i'm guessing no maintenance meant he also never checked the oil, etc and it ran dry? or will the oil come out and me the consistency of a jello mold? also, i've never leased so i dont know how it works but, dont you get dinged on the price if your lease ends and the car is run into the ground? aren't there extra fees to pay?

    Shaking my head...
Though I will admit that when I was maintaining trees for the power company, they gave me an old Isuzu diesel to drive around. Talk about a stinking beater. The guy before me would store his wet boots on the front seat, and as evidenced by the trash, ate nothing but smoked sardines for lunch. We lived near Yosemite and I was heading home on a Friday after spending a day working in the valley. 30 miles from home I blew a hole in the motor. Determined to not spend hours waiting for a tow, I floored it and drove that sucker home. Maybe I was the Moron...but to this day I wear that as a badge of honor. Haha in fact the boss was so impressed that he gave me a brand new Mazda 2600 4x4 extra cab that I cared for and drove proudly for the next few years.

    Happy Thanksgiving Everyone
