Wife and I have had it as well. Couple days down then a lingering cough for a couple weeks. Pretty mild really, have had other things that were much worse imo. Had pneumonia years ago and dislocated a rib from coughing so much. That was aweful.

Mask mandates only work if people actually follow them. We have one in Washakie now and its still maybe a 50/50 on whether people follow it or not.

The county council had a meeting on it before it was implemented. My wife got to go and said it was quite interesting as all the "big" business owners in town brought up how they are already short staffed and any outbreak could cause them to shutdown. One of the commissioners who owns a business with ~20 people even mentioned having half his staff out due to the virus (both them actually having it and precautions). And then the council voted against a mandate. Thankfully the health commissioner went around it and had one implemented anyways. Course the following Monday for some reason the commissioners all voted to remove him.....for "unrelated reasons".

But yes agree. MT has a mask Mandaite. It's gotten a bit better in the last couple weeks but before that was like 50/50ish.

 

North Idaho is so ass backward that Kootenai county went to red on the health scale and they removed the mask mandate. Then after cases exploded even further it came back and maybe one in every 10 people wears one. But it's North Idaho, so I shouldn't be surprised.

 

It's about setting the tone, setting the example. It starts from the top. It gives folks a chance to overcome peer pressure and do the right thing.

 

Yeah it'll be interesting to see how Billings is doing when we head up there this weekend. Our previous trips there I wouldn't even say it was 50/50 lol. (Outside of businesses like costco that had their own enforcement of it)

 

Yeah we have been there a few times. It seems better there, it's the worst hot spot in the whole area though. So who knows. Lot of business's are enforcing their own policies but plenty aren't.

 

I'm tempted to stir the pot on this recent discussion, but will refrain 'cause TW.

Stir the pot jk. I feel like I'm in the minority from the looks of things, but I'm ok with that. It's a damn shame the way people are treating each other over this shit that's for sure. Not in here, but in general.

I’ve realized the best fix for me is to get off the phone, turn off the news, and go hike or camp or really anything to get away from the constant “updates” for everything.

 

Here's my two cents on the topic. Why should I be responsible for someone else's health when they don't care about there own? The American diet is terrible for us. Your gut health has a huge impact on your immune system and your overall well being. Feed it trash and you will feel like trash and your immune system will be more susceptible and unprepared for viruses. Eating better would solve so many health problems we deal with, but nobody's making money off healthy people.

 

I mean..I could argue tons of people are making millions hell billions off of healthy people. Aka any sport activity.

I could also argue that the food system does suck though and there is a tier of wealth you need to be at to eat healthier because it's just cheaper to feed yourself and/or your family with processed food. People also don't have time to take care if themselves always either giving how much time they need to dedicate to work.

Im not disagreeing with you that food is a topic that is a problem but it's not a simple one either.

And sure, you don't care about my health. Fine. But to me that just sucks that you wouldn't want to care about your fellow neighbor. It takes little to no effort to at least try to help.

But I'm the kind of person that is more trusting of people than most and open to helping however I can.
