I've always heard it's not a good idea to "top off".

Agreed! The fuel lines at my Costco are usually 5+ cars deep in each lane and more times that not 10 deep. I just roll by and laugh at all the idling vehicles and the fuel being spent while waiting for their turn at the pump. I get that people like to save at the pump and who doesn't but how much is your time worth and how much are you really saving after sitting in line for 20 minutes with your truck running?

I'm not that brave. I get to about a 1/2 gallon and I envision pushing it any further resulting in gas spilling out all over my truck and onto the ground. Then there will be a hazmat situation!

We were at the Maui Costco in March when all the panic buying started. I wouldn't even go in. I sat in the rental heep while my wife shopped.

I have no problem using Costco gas. There are only a few refineries in the whole state. All brands use them.

I like using Costco gas when I'm in the area at fill up time but Costco gas gives my motor the crickets worse than any other gas. I gotta do that HPFP TSB one day

My wife has attended a conference every February for the last 6 years. It was on the Big Island last February. My boys and I were at Costco 10 minutes before it opened and people were already lined up at both the door and the pumps were a steady 6+ cars deep. We literally got one of the last parking spots in the lot. Thankfully I didn't need gas then (first full day on the island) but we were back later before returning the rental. It was a lot quieter then.

Last time I was in Kauai and forgot to gas up before returning a rental (GMC Yukon). I said I was going to go back and fill up first to the attendant. He offered gas at $3.50/gal (very cheap in Hawaii at the time) so I took him up on it. That was cheaper than a regular gas station at the time.

I prefer Shell gas. In my mind I get better highway gas mileage. But it is always so much more expensive, so unless I'm near a Tribal run Shell station, I go get Costco gas since it is down the street from my house.

I have an account with Maui Oil. Costo does not sell the Non ethanol 89 that I prefer to use. But costco gets their fuel from Maui Oil. as Maui Oil is THE MAN here on Maui, when it comes to fossil fuel products

Our Costco in Kapolei is like 40-50 cents cheaper then the bigger gas stations, its Top Tier Gas and as of about a month ago, Ethanol Free for Regular so cant beat that!

no idea about being top tier, I just know I actually do go to WaWa because the drive to Costco is a pain in the butt to get to, unless I have an excuse to be on the other side of the river

I started using Costco gasoline earlier this year after pretty consistently using Shell, haven’t really noticed a difference so I guess that’s a good thing :notsure:

I use costco gas, I usually fill up when I'm getting groceries on the weekend so I'm already there, I don't bother waiting if its over 3 cars deep per lane, but that's pretty rare.
I also started using Costco oil for my truck last oil change.

I usually use 87 non ethanol when I’m in town. If I go out of town I stick to chevron, shell or Costco.

Never used it before, don't think there is a Costco within 100 miles.

A few years ago an Acura service advisor told me the best places to get gas are name brands (Exxon, Texaco , etc.) and QT. Since there is a QT near the house I primarily use them. Works great for me.

I like Costco but isn’t convenient to me. However if they have no ethanol gas, I may make an effort to use it more.

Costco gas has been good to me and all my vehicles. I usually fill up in the morning @ 0715 or so before going to work. There's usually only 0-2 cars there.

I only use top tier gas. There's 3 Costco's within 20 miles so I get it there 90% of the time. There's a Mobil close that's the other 10%. Wawa??? Uh no.
