Hey, I'm new here. Had to make an account to ask what tires you are running. Looks good!

Did you have to do any modifications for them to fit?

Yes I am running the Revtech Level kit with the add a leaf and SPC UCAs. It almost needs a cab mount chop but I found someone that can actual do a front end alignment and adjust my UCA and havent had any problems yet. I taken a a few trails out here in Colorado with no problems.

Anyone with an 8” crossbin wish they had the larger 13” size or vice versa? I keep flipping between the two

I have the 13 and I'm very happy with it. The Diamondback keeps out most of the water when it rains but in a real downpour there will be some water getting in, so I keep anything that needs to stay dry in the bin.

And you have about 6” clearance underneath? Just trying to figure out if I can slide skis and boards underneath. Thanks

Should be fine getting them underneath. I keep my bike rack under the bin when I'm not using it.

I have the 13" and in packing for my first trip I kind of wish I would of gotten the 8". That said only because things like my traction boards and some items for the beach take up a ton of awkward room in the bed.

I have only had my cover on for about a week and no rain yet to check. I do see a few spots I may add some weather stripping to help water proof it.

I would say under the 13" bin there is about 4-6" of space. I will measure mine soon and take a photo. Bed is currently packed up for a trip to the Outer Banks, NC next week.

I was able to fit one beach chair underneath and that was it. Only because of how wide and tall the chair is when folded. I was really hoping to be able to stack both chairs and slide them under. Also my traction boards just barely push up on the bin when i push them underneath so i need to decide how im going to mount those for trips.

All of that to say having the 13" bin is definitely a plus, I keep all my recovery gear and straps in it as well my air compressor for now until I get it mounted up with my Expedition Essentials mount in the cargo box in the bed. The bin is also easily removed if I truly need the space by taking the gas struts off the bottom ball and the safety bar so I can lay the Cab door back far enough to lift the Bin out. I did have to remove the two front tie down hooks from the sides of the interior of the bed so the bin could slide forward against the cab as far as it could. But i would not have need for them as long as the bin is in. Hope this helps everyone!

I think you’re referring to me. I do not use the safety latch. Can’t say I tried it either though. If you turn the latch when you close the cover I don’t see how it could ever open on it’s own, with or without a safety latch.

Did you remove the safety latch so it would be out of the way?

I removed the safety latch because I didn’t like having to disengage it every time I opened the cover. I never tried it with the longer shocks, but I’m guessing it would limit the travel too.

Are you guys torquing your bolts down on the center piece? I am getting metal shavings when I tighten it down?

Do you have a pic from afar to see how far up it goes?

The clamps are aluminum and don't need to be super tight. I would recommend a lock washer on them though as they do rattle loose

Sorry for the crappy photo but here is an idea. I obviously removed the safety catch from mine and I used the SUSPA C16-0853. With the old gas springs when open the lid measure 22 from the bed rail (rear panel), with the new ones it measures 31. So it makes the pannels almost verticals.

Can anyone with the 13" cross bin help me out here? I'm trying to determine if it will fit in my bed, as I have built a small wooden addition to the side that covers the fender well. I know the 8" will fit, as it sits above where the wooden addition is, but I'm worried about the 13" where it drops down. If you could take a photo of how close the "drop down" portion comes to the side of the fender well, that would be extremely helpful. I've been scouring the site looking at photos, but no one has a close up of that area. My addition is made from 1/2" plywood, and butts directly up against the bottom of the fender well. It comes straight up from that point (doesn't angle toward the bed side, like the fender liner does), so as long as there is 1/2" of clearance at the very bottom, the bin will fit. I have an OEM cargo organizer and it DID NOT fit with my addition - I had to cut the rail on top where it attaches by about an inch, to allow it to slide further toward the passenger side. But the OEM cargo organizer has an angle built in to it, to follow the lines of the fender well, and that was the issue.

Thank you @kwill. It's really close, but doesn't look like it'll fit with my setup. I guess I'll have to order the 8" bin instead. It looks like if that "drop down" portion went all the way to the floor of the bed, it would be making contact with the side of the fender well.
