Keeping the ol N64 viable ... Along with DK, Crash, and a few others.... Lol

Topic: anyone else have their key flipping out all the time in their pocket? Not a complaint, just an observation

Not not once. It takes a fair bit of pressure to engage the flip mechanism. Never had an issue with it flipping out in my pocket.

Just shout out to my dealer. I picked up my brand new truck today, brought in just the key blanks and they cut them both free of charge in 5 minutes. Were curious about what they were going into and showed the dealer and parts guys @MESO instagram and they thought they were cool. But they were worried about me fking up the transponder chip :). - But I just got it out,,,heat gun helped loosen the glue right up

My newly cut key works great and I ordered an extra blank just in case I had an issue. So if anyone needs a free blank let me know. No charge. I think I can just put it in a reg envelope and it would be cheap to mail.

Careful, the sorting machines tend to ruin regular envelopes with items in them. Lost a PS2 memory card that way

^^ This should be a sticky! Great tip.

Any tips on the best way to get the TRD / blank panel out?

Thanks. I tried that off intuition but wasn’t successful. Should have tried harder. Wound up launching my dummy plate into some hidden corner of the room. Classic. Good thing we have two.

I showed a few photos of the fobs to my 5 year old. He thinks the flip trigger button should come in different colors.

I remember you saying this and also had mine where the key blank was working itself loose overtime,,even after cranking the wittle set screw down pretty good...I just put in a drop of structural epoxy where the blank slides in and its rock solid, not going anywhere.

Im really liking the flipfob, I went back to the stock key (while waiting for the epoxy to cure) and in comparison it felt like I was carrying a shank in my front pocket :) But as I hold it,,,,I can't stop thinking how awesome it would be in some sort of aluminum or something with a little weight.

I flipped the key blade over and made a small indentation on the flat part for the set screw to grab on to. Used some blue loctite on the set screw and tightened it snug. Doesn’t come loose. To find the spot for the indentation (using a punch), just tighten the set screw once and then pull the blade out. The set screw Mark will give you the exact location to punch an indentation.

Understand that if you epoxy the blade in, you loose some ability of replacing parts that are glued together or swapping blades if you end up needing to buy a new one due to the flip fob breaking. Unlikely but something to consider.

Anyone break the transponder getting it out? How much is that going to run me?
