    It used to be used as a cooling media, like freon. That's what made it so dangerous to work construction remodels of older buildtings- you could step wrong in a pipe rack, knock off a pressure gauge (on a 3/8" pipe stem) and be caught in the cloud without a quick way out. The stuff is every bit as lethal as H2S in a refinery. You get maybe three whiffs of either one, and you're a goner.

    I'm surprised he ran up there.

    That looks like a HazMat tag on that trailer (might be a reflective triangle), they are supposed to have the HazMat tags on them though.

    First thing we check for is HazMat tags when we're on seen. (from a distance) to make sure nothing bad could be leaking out.

    There are more and more people committing suicide, using gases (similar to that), putting EMS, Fire, and Police Officers at risk. Some leave notes saying their is a deadly gas some dont. I received a email about it not to long ago.

    Makes me more weary of running into a house when we have a med call....

    I'm almost wondering if this wasn't a staged training film. The vapor cloud intensifies greatly when he approaches the patient on the road, disappears completely allowing us to witness Fire and EMS's arrival and then starts up again to be dispersed by the fog line. The situation is processed and acted upon very quickly by Fire as well.

    Having said that, if it is legit God Bless the selfless act by that Officer to try to assist the vic. :(
