I've made a few mods to my 2006 Tacoma. I installed a Skyjacker 3 1/2 inch lift, Smittybilt X20 winch mounted to a fab, which functions fine but regret not buying the bumper outright, Americus LT285/75R16 tires, Kenwood in dash, Rockford Fosgate P300-10T 300 watt amp with 10 inch subwoofer combo, 6 1/2 inch JBL speakers in rear access doors, pioneer amp under front seat, pioneer 4 way speakers in front doors and I replaced the stock headlights. I'm interested in a locker for the front and some different wheels and would like to hear any input if you've made these particular mods. I think the black wheels look good but like the black with aluminum or chrome mix look better.I'm also interested in any other interesting mods no matter how small. If you have any input or questions I'd love to hear them. Thanks.

Do you already have a rear locker? I’d lock that first. It should be enough

No and I was unsure about this. Are the front and rear limited slip or open? Thanks for the reply.

Open. May I ask why you feel the need to lock it? It’s a lot of money and not worth it for some people.

Both are open? I'm 51 and have been a Jeep Dude all my life. I've always enjoyed making modifications, hunt in some pretty nasty places, and enjoy 4 wheeling' with buddies. Toyota four wheel drive trucks have always been awesome and I'm enjoyin' this Tacoma Ya know but if there's a reason I shouldn't I'd definitely like to hear that too. Thanks.

Yes, both are open. Personally, I always get stuck when I don’t have a locker because I except the truck to do things it can’t. Lol.

You should just lock the rear and see if it’s enough. You can easily break cv axles when locking the front

Thanks. I really appreciate it. Do you have a 2nd gen Tacoma. If so I need to check out your threads.

I’ve had 11 tacomas (2nd & 3rd gen), never made a build thread on any of them unfortunately lol.
I will start one if I end up boosting this truck though. The little 2.7 needs some help

Hey they all need help. Even if I could afford a new one, I'd be doin' somethin' to it. LOL! I may decide to put a locker in both front and rear. Have you ever broken the cv's and, if so, how hard were you pushing it to break 'em?

i have never personally had a locked front, just seen a lot of people on here that have issues when they push it. It’s not a Jeep with a solid front axle unfortunately lol.

A rear locker, Big tires, a 3” lift, and airing down to 8-10psi should get you through almost anything though.
