I decided against OVtune after this, and I was planning on doing it before.

Everyone should be doing this if they can, massive difference in driveability.

I agree...massive difference in my truck. This tsb makes my truck a joy to drive. It doesn't feel like I'm towing a 10k lb trailer all the time. I haven't pushed the ECT button since.

Appreciate the pics of the TSB. Applies to the 6cyl 2GR only, not my 2.7L 4 cyl. I’ve never had a problem with acceleration delay on my 2019.

PEOPLE - PLEASE Post what models/engines/etc the TSB or problem you are having applies to when you post!! Not everyone is running a 2GR V6!!! And glad with all the complaints I don’t have one.

I have a 2019 OR that, frankly, I don't have many powertrain complaints about. However, it does this 3rd gear RPM dance that has always bothered me, if only slightly. Second to third settles to a low RPM (TC lock?) then buzzes up a couple hundred RPM (TC unlock), then settles again. Any indication the new TSB addresses this?

Is the Canadian TSB the same number?

The Canadian version is attached to a thread around page 2 or 3 I think

The TSB lists the model of the 3.5 V6 right at the top on the papers attached. Nobody complains about the 4 cylinder except for its lack of power.

So my truck matches the VIN and was manufactured late 2019. Like everybody else, the worst thing about the truck is how it hunts for gears. Annoyingly, when I go to the Toyota website and put in my VIN it returns no recalls or TSBs. I’ll ask at the dealership (going in a couple weeks), but it is disappointing if they don’t notify all affected. I’ve heard nothing about this fuel pump recall either.

The Toyota site never shows applicable TSBs.

I called them to add this to my service and they said it wasn’t for my vehicle. I bet they just went to the same website I did.

No. They have more info than you do. If you are a later 2020 build, you might be 04B81 already.

Yes. TechStream with a Tactrix adapter or the Carista or OBD Fusion apps with a wireless adapter.

Looking at the actual TSB is how I discovered that. My point is it would be helpful to point out what a TSB applies to when you make a post about it. Fortunately someone posted the TSB so I could see what engine it applies to. Maybe when a TSB comes out only applying to the 2TR-FE (apparently rare) I will post about it excluding any links or info regarding the applicability and leave you V6 guys scratching your heads until you see the TSB. ;)

Open your door and see when the build date is. Mine was 08/2020 and came with 04B81.

Great. Will try to schedule the flash during next oil change (if they relent).

Do you have a recommended wireless adapter to work with OBD Fusion or Carista? Also, is Caista or OBD Fusion better than one another? Thanks for your feedback, I'd just rather buy the right one the first time. Seems OBD Fusion is more in-depth.
