Yeah I keep reading about the balance issues people are having. I love the look of the tires, but hearing all the issues has made me hesitant.

Good research on your part. I was in the same boat man. I just said theres no way all these ppl are having all these issues, it couldn't possibly happen to me. Well -- it did, but not like some people who cant get it right. I mean going from a 245 road tire to a 265 aggressive AT will obviously give you a bit more steering feedback, but I had a BAD shimmy. That was the oh shit moment. It was between 50 and 60. I took it to a reputable shop in town and they apologized for the issue and made it right. They only charged me $40 for the job due to the inconvenience. So that helped. It was in my head for 1500 miles or so that it wasn't 100%, so keep in mind that the road tires just feel different than the ATs and theres a certain amount of steering wheel feedback that will be felt. Bottom line is my truck tracks straight, drives smooth, and handles well. Your reservations are warranted, but at least you know going in. Time to find a good shop. I went to an offroad place that also does big rig tires.

So. My son ordered the neoprene rough country seat covers for his 2020. $110 seems good for custom fit deals. This is the last thing I need for my truck. Wondering if anyone has had experience with these.

What are you running for mudflaps?

 

9x11 plasticolor. 3 different sets. The fronts had to be hacked and modified pretty heavily to eliminate rubbing from the -25mm offset. I mounted them high and a bit wide in an effort to save my paint from crap getting flung up from my tires. The back are mounted high and wide as well those are unmodified. I also made some small splitters for the front of the rear wheel well for some added protection. I despise the look of mud flaps, but given that my 02 tacoma had mud flaps with -19mm offset for like 17 years and no rust, then I took the rears off and within 2 years the bed had rust every where -- it's a good indicator that those flaps were actually providing good protection.

Rear: un modified mounted higher and wider than you would normally mount em.



Splitters: small edge of a complete mud flap cut off and mounted at the front of the rear wheel wells. Not sure if these are providing any added benefit, but I figured it couldn't hurt


FRONT: these were severely modified to eliminate the scrub radius rubbing that came with negative offset. Also mounted much higher and wider than you would normally mount.


I had my truck in the mountains off road for about 40 or so slow and easy miles and had some chips on the rockers, so I decided to make something that was cheap, provided some protection, and didnt look terrible. This is what I came up with. Around $65 for 6 flaps (9x11), a few different templates to get the look I wanted and an hours worth of work.

 

They arent that terrible looking especially since I have a black truck.
You can barely notice them in the picture.

 

Yeah, I like the low profile look of them on your truck, way better than the OEM ones. Plus concerned about protection/rubbing when I size up in tires.

They fit well imo, though the price has bumped up a bit. I managed to pick them up for $85.

Don't mind the dirty truck, spent the weekend camping in Maine.

 

Here she is! Really loving the stance with some upgraded wheels / tires. Looking to add more to the exterior soon hopefully!

 

Those look nice. I've waited this long, so I'm going to see what my sons covers look like when he gets em. I'm sure I'll be helping him so I'll report back. Right now my truck is being used as a restaurant 2x a week after ice hockey, so it's only a matter of time before someone spills something all over these seats. Not sure why Toyota decided to put light grey seats in a utility type vehicle.

 

What kinda fuel milage you getting with them

 

Haven't started to calc yet. It didn't change on my last Taco when I upgraded tires, not sure I'll bother checking on this one for some time. For me, I just put gas in it when it needs it. Like my motorcycle when people ask what kind of mileage I get, I say who cares? I get the motorcycle to ride, just like the truck, I got it for what it can do, not for the mileage figures. My '06 PreRunner got pretty much as advertised mileage, if I'm close with this one, I'm fine with that.
I put these on at 3,500 miles because the stock tires were so crappy. Even if I knew going in that it would cost me in mileage, I'd still do it, just to make it driveable.

 

The seat covers were ordered the day before I picked up the truck. Couldn't stand the grey seats either.

By the way, ordered a set of AT3W's today. Getting them installed Monday night. Will post pictures once they are on the truck. Also ordered some of the Plasticolor mud flaps. Pretty stoked.

 

Supposedly, the Wildpeaks have a new rubber compound and are not performing as well as Wildpeaks from even a year ago. Take everything with a grain of salt.

Yes they have the plug in spot attached to the bottom of the grille below the emblem. You will need the wiring harness though which is about 60 bucks from Toyota

 

LED fogs installed over the weekend with the help of @2k2. They look great and work really well so far. All parts used were Toyota. Buyer beware if you have a 2020, I did not need to use a relay. I recommend switching out your turn signal stalk instead of using a button as well.

 

Also, I have a couple questions if anyone is able to shed some light
1. Has anyone opted to use headlights from the TRD Sport or TRD OR on their SR? I want to move to LED headlights but have had poor experience with aftermarket headlights and have decided to just stay with factory electronics. If anybody has, was there any wiring upgrades required?
2. Has anyone just swapped their factory bulbs for LEDs on their projector headlights? If so did you have to upgrade your wiring harness?

there's a whole thread on this (stickied, 3rd gen forum) with tests and charts and data, but it's like very long. tl;dr version is that LED bulbs are bad and for a decent increase in light output you can swap the H11s for H9s in the stock projector. i even did it myself.
