Wow.. I havent missed anything about the Taco until I just did the oil on the Tundra. Skid plate removal, remove drain on the housing, then remove the housing to get the cartridge out. Painnnnn.
Fluid film applied to the underfluffies, im wearing most of it but otherwise all went well. Shit does NOT come off so thatll be good in the salt spray. I hate living here.

I do OCs on my buddy's Sequoia 5.7. In wouldn't describe it as a PITA...but it's definitely more involved than an average change. Making sure you have an oil pan that will hold 8 quarts is a must

If only the Tacoma and 2015 Camry was as easy to change oil as my GTI. Oil filter housing right in top and my extractor, under 15 minutes if I want to rush...



I know, something simple on a German car, completely unheard of. Glad it's still under powertrain warranty as it needs a waterpump...

 

If I had the 1/2 to 3/8 reducer for my torque wrench and didnt have to run home to grab it id have been under 20 (did it at the garage at work, i dont have heat in mine yet)
I had to set up my step ladder to refill because im short and cant reach anything so that was at least another 30 seconds. Stop being meannnn.

 

Is that oil pan part a cautionary tale from experience? LOL
