I bought a smoke tester on eBay for $65
    .
The leak is coming out of the #5 fuel injector.

Fixing it will have to wait because I tore up the rear diff today. I’m going to regear while getting the diff fixed.

Is that right? Magnuson made them, I never knew that.
Unfortunately in Tx the price difference Between reg and premium is close a dollar per gallon! A little too rich for my blood. Especially since the Tacoma only gets 16-18 mpg in the first place and I cover a lot of miles daily in mine.
    Thanks for the info!!

I changed my spark plugs to the cooler ones with the install but I thought I read in the 4.0 mega thread they suggested you don’t need to unless running extreme temps. Is that true for the 3.4 too? The plugs that came with the kit are single electrode not double

With the 3.4 it is considered a requirement to run 2 step cooler plugs, the iridium ones that most people get are single electrode.

Actually you can’t run regular octane with methonal setup unless the methonal was spraying all the time once you put your foot on the pedal
The methonal you set to spray at 3k or 4K depending with 91 octane and truck.
If you used regular octane the methonal would have to spay right away at 1500rpms up.
So technically yes with a larger nozzle too to cover the 87-91 octane but no would not really work well

yeah that's what I figured, plus at that point you're going to be going through so much methanol it would just be cheaper and easier to buy premium octane lol.

Be careful we’re you buy them because there are now fake DENSO plugs on eBay and Amazon that are packed in DENSO boxes and look identical but they are fake and garbage

If the cost of premium fuel is what’s preventing you from getting a blower, you probably won’t want to spend the money you will need to for a proper setup anyway.

I don’t mind dropping 5k on a proper setup. But I do mind 3$ a gallon to make it go

I do not understanding your reasoning  Unless you’re driving a crazy amount of miles a year, the difference in price of fuel really isn’t that much in the grand scheme of things. I know location varies, but here the spread between regular and premium is only 20 cents a gallon right now. Over the course of a year, I’m probably only spending a few extra hundred dollars buying premium instead of regular.

    Must be nice..
The difference here, as I have already said, is nearly a dollar. Gas prices are only going up

After supercharging, I've noticed an increase in mpg's in a large amount, from 15-16mpg and now supercharged I am getting 18.5mpg. Likely because I can stay in 5th the entire time up hills and not have to downshift. Takes less effort for the truck to move. (comparatively)

Or the valve job did a lot more than I thought, or I baby it more.

For the auto guys. Is this something y’all experience WOT in 3rd? After redline what I assume is the torque converter kicking on + 3rd I get that dip in rpm right before I let off the gas. Pedal is pegged the entire time through that.

    Any ideas?
