Thanks for the info @Tacospike and @no vtec 4me!
The local Pueblo Colorado dealer said they were saving me money by getting them for me at $757.63 each.... Could this be a bluff?
FYI I am working to buy a new 2021 sport tacoma that doesn't come with LED to save a few thousand. Has anyone else ever done this or is it crazy to buy non LED headlights if its an option for a few grand more?

If i recall depending on the packages you get, the LED upgrade should be a $500 option.

I was hoping that was the case, but from my understanding and after chatting with the Toyota support customer service, the LED headlights can only be installed at the factory and is not an option for the dealer.
I think because of the engine wiring harness being different for the halogen bulbs... and hints why we have to purchase an aftermarket adapter for the LED headlights...

I believe that is the case. My parts department has also told me that the engine wiring harness has a different part number for trucks with the LED headlights.

I thought xrunnerdude67 had a thread accusing him of ripping people off? Am I mistaken?

No that happened. His thread where he was selling the harness got shut down. Too bad because it’s a quality product.

He wasn't ripping off anyone. If you ordered one, you will most likely get your order. More like his ETAs do not actually match and has missed his estimates by a couple of weeks. And for some users, he has not really communicated well about delays or updates on their orders.

I have his harness and love it, I can say he makes a top notch product. I do also like supporting community members.

This. 100%. Life is messy. I have his harness. It’s a quality product. You might be surprised if you priced out every part involved. He isn’t making more than 50% on labor.

It’s a different OEM harness. But the conversion harness works just fine and costs $85-$100. The LED from the factory is + $500 so it’s a no brainer. But if you don’t get it, $1600 gets it done. It’s worth doing regardless

It would be nice if Toyota would make a harness to go with it and make the whole setup oem plug and play.

    What incentive do they have?

None for them really but that way there would be no issues with warranty's by having a third party harness.

A little tip I’ve been meaning to tell everyone... you don’t need load equalizing resistors resistors to stop hyper flash for rear LED turn signal bulbs when running these headlights.

Before swapping out my headlights I was running Sylvania LED bulbs in everything except the fog, low, and high beams. I was running load equalizing resistors on the front signals only, which stopped the hyper flash for both the front and rear LED bulbs, it worked perfectly. I swapped out to the 2020 headlights and didn’t remove the resistors thinking the rear would still need resistors installed. When I tried out the turn signals of the new headlights WITH the resistors installed, the signal flashed one time and then stopped. At first I thought I messed something up. I removed the resistors and everything works perfectly with no hyper flash induced by the rear LEDs. Toyota must have engineered load equalizing resistors internally for these new headlights so they wouldn’t have to change any the interior hardware associated with the flashers.

I'm about to place the order for the headlights now but stuck on who to get the harness from. How are people's perspective on the TRS harness and having to swap the polarity. Alot of good reviews of Mike's harness but i see his thread is locked.
