The o rings rot away and allow water and other crap inside the hub.

Sil Glyde and Redline grease is all I needed to lube up the hubs and o ring.

I used a degreaser as well as brake cleaner, and the most fine steel wool and went to town.

Got the hub dial and cover sandblasted in order to paint it.

Here's a different set that I did as I've gotten several done already

    20190926_120645.jpg

    20191003_104215.jpg

    20191023_152811.jpg

I would have done one set in black and purple, but someone offered to buy them so I didn't.

Also, make sure you have a brass drift at your disposal. Under the bolts that hold the hub body to the axle hub are cone washers. They practically seize up and will prevent you from removing the hub body.

Undo each bolt until it is just above flush from the stud its attached to. Place your brass drift on said stud (really, the bolt), and give it a few good whacks.

That'll cause the cone washer to pop up and out of its seized position.

Absolutely do the seals where the CV connects.

Edit: Damn they jacked up the prices since 2018 when I bought em. Anyways- Do them
now will be easier since it’s off truck and it’s “cheap”. You’ll regret if you don’t. Ask me how I know.

Actually I used two vendors -

Here's the detent and ball kit - https://www.yotamasters.com/shop/kn.../hardware/locking-hub-dial-spring-detent-kit/

and from the same vendor, scroll down and get two of the round gaskets, as well as the star shaped one - https://www.yotamasters.com/shop/knuckle-service-upgrades/locking-hub-gaskets/

Last but not least, two of these - https://www.lowrangeoffroad.com/hub-outer-dial-o-ring-11858.html

As for the axle seals that you've listed, you only need one of each. One is driver, one is passenger. Make sure one is 47013 and the other is 47027 as listed earlier.

Here's a pic of them since I've always got extra parts -

    20201118_155054.jpg

You may very well not need the detent and ball kit, but I did lose one ball bearing in all the hubs I've rebuilt. Not to mention, I had one with a broken spring.

@Kwikvette is correct. Only 1 of each.
There should be a video from Timmy the Toolman on front diff seals.
I went to Home Depot got a 2” pvc pipe cap and was perfect to hammer driver side seal.
For passenger it’s larger and I rented a puller kit from oreily that had a big ass metal cup. Then returned it.

Also, and you should be able to find it with a google search before I get back home, but you should replace the front diff bolt...specifically the one that has an allen key.

You can swap it with one from another Toyota differential but I forget which one.

I'm pretty sure these are the crush gaskets for the drain/fill plugs too?

It's a Lexus diff plug that fits on our front diffs and uses a 14mm socket rather than the stupid 10mm hex key that ours takes and loves to strip

    Part # 90341-24016

Thanks for chiming in before I did, I need to order one myself. I did but stupid Camelback Toyota sent me one from a Land Cruiser even though I didn't order it.

Yeah I need to get one too still. I stripped my original one but replaced it with another before I knew about the Lexus plug

Fifty bucks for a driveshaft doesn't sound bad to me, but then again I've never had to buy one so I don't know what they go usually go for

think I payed like $70 for mine, 50 isn’t bad especially if it includes shipping... I didn’t click the link to check though, maybe ask for the bolts also.
