California is the only US state that has legalized medicinal marijuana, yet with a lot of Federal interference and DEA raids. What is your opinion of medicinal and/or decriminalizing marijuana?

(Hint hint: The current and past US Presidents have both admitted to smoking marijuana.)

    I support legalizing marijuana.

How can I get my hands on some……. :rasta:

I really dont care either way. If they legalize it thats fine with me, but if they did that, i would want even stricter laws on driving under the influence. I personally dont smoke weed, maybe once a year in special circumstances if that. But i also dont have a problem with people smoking it, unless they drive. having experienced the affects of it i can say that there is no reason for anyone to drive afterwards. When i have smoked it it takes me 2 or 3 minutesto realize someone is talkling to me, much less reacting to brake lights.

I'm currently trying to get back to my pre-college weight so the last thing i need is the munchies :)

I don't care what other people do to their own bodies, but driving under the influence of anything is not okay with me. I agree with ndcouch - if they legalize it, they should work on making our roads a safer place.

To me - its like prohibition. During prohibition - people would kill other people over moonshine and the profits were ridiculous. Now-a-days alcohol related deaths are either self inflicted stupidity or stupidity exercised via machinery (autos included).

The profits are still ridiculous.

I can honestly say that i have never done anything stupid while under the influence of alcohol. I get better looking, more articulate, my body is much more bearable without a shirt, i'm a better dancer, i'm more athletic, more likable, very suave with the ladies, and pretty much become the sexiest man on the planet.... but i have never done anything stupid.

I suspect you would get more votes (a lot more "anal" votes) if the poll was not stated in such a lopsided manner. At least that is why I have not voted...

    Yes you have and let me remind you. You said;

"Shake dem boobies like a bowl of jello......" Now that is borderline

    getting there....
i say if they are gonna legalize mary jane.....bring it the hell on. if not, then thats cool too!! i smoked the hell outta some green back in high school, and a little in my semi-college days(long ago!!), so it wouldnt hurt my feelings either way.

as far as the safer roads are concerned.........thats the shit this country needs to worry about(just my opinion), not some little petty marijuana selling for a little cash. i've gotta say, ive drive impaired ALOT and never got caught........and it was ABSOLUTELY without a doubt, the dumbest shit i have ever done!!

hey nd, i've done all kinds of dumb shit, funny shit, goofy shit when i've been drunker than hell bro!! and not remembering anything really sucks!

Themaster: The bowl full of jello comment was made under the influence, however, that comment is far from stupid. That is one of those examples of me being smooth i was talking about. I told you i get more suave when i drink and thats case in point.

Legalize it. If you've never done it, don't talk about it like you know cause you don't know sh@#! I USED to be a heavy drinker as well as an avid pot smoker. Alcohol is far more dangerous. Don't get me wrong, I agree driving under the influence of anything is dangerous and not something I condone.
tcBob is right about too much time and $ spent on marijuana enforcement.
I've experienced that side firsthand as well.

Just out of curiosity, Themaster, what prompted this thread?

Watched a documentary on how California legalized medicinal marijuana and yet the Fed's go on raiding and smashing up the premises of suppliers and prosecuting only some suppliers on a regular basis. Made me wonder if "Land of the Free" means anything if the Fed's dont respect legislation passed by one of its States.

Makes me ponder why a government that cannot provide health care to its citizens deny its people a natural and relatively cheap pain reliever but continue to rake in billions of dollars in taxes from the sale of alcohol and tobacco that is not known to have any medicinal value yet kills hordes of people annually.

Furthermore, law enforcement resources are being wasted busting small time dope dealers/users while gangs are taking over neighbourhoods, women and children are raped and killed, pedophiles live next door preying on the innocent while terror cells are in incubating. It just boggles my mind.

When Canada wanted to decriminalize marijuana a few years back, the US Govt put tremendous pressure on our government to reverse its decision and succeeded.

Upon discussing this matter privately with a fellow TW member, this person suggested that I poll the topic as the results would be of interest to him.

Good answer. I spent 3 months in jail for smoking marijuana while heroine junkies who were robbing their mothers and jackin' old ladies purses were getting two days for their crimes. Its B.S.

This is a very debatable topic. I would like to hear some responses from people against it. I like to hear both sides.

You should, especially that of the ones you love.

Do you know that tens of thousands of doctors in the US prescribe drugs that are NOT approved by the FDA and pharmacies dispense them without much regulation? Yes, this is a fact. And these untested drugs kill thousands of unsuspecting patients. Cause of death is seldom identified or released if it is determined it was caused by an untested drug.

In order to market an untested drug, all that a manufacturer needs is a 10 digit NDC number and the drug is at your local pharmacy waiting for you. Brings new meaning to "Guinea pig" folks.

Buy Canadian drugs. They are cheaper and go a much rigorous testing process.

nd, I know you are saying right about now that you'd rather die than swallow a Canadian pill. ;)

Here's my take, and has been for years. Pro-weed as much as Anti-Alcohol or at least slow down on the booze.
Put two guys that dispise each other in a room with a bottle of...let's say Jack Daniels. Chances are there gonna go at it. Put the two same guys in same room with a joint and they're probably going to argue over who gets the last Ding Dong. Another backassward detail to our "society". Something that almost encourages madness and rage is legal and.........
