Hope everyone had a good Thasnksgiving, given these trying times. We cooked the standard full house amount, and now we have enough MRE's for several days. Famous Dad words of wit came to mind.."Take all you want, eat all you take."
Did the Zoom, facetime thing with everyone.. all good, but miss the personal contact. I can "read" the kids better in person. Dad would read me, when I would come home late at night, wouldn't say a word, just read me for a few seconds. When he was satisfied, he would be off to bed. Later in life, I realized those were teaching moments. Thanks Dad, I miss you.
    Merry Christmas everyone.

Well I was going hunting this morning but my wife told me that her car won't start. Dead battery.
I'll tell you what, what a pia it is to get to.
So I'm waiting for the local auto store to open.
Can't complain. 2103 mitsubishi outlander sport and a whopping 36k on the clock.

Welcome to the over 60 crowd. Post up a few pics of your Tacoma when you get a chance.

Harry: My 2004 Bonneville went 9 years before I needed a new battery. Keeping a car in the garage will do that most of the time. The Tacoma not so much. I am on the 2nd replacement battery now. To be fair I have done quite a few electrical and sound system mods which will tend to wear a battery down.

Good morning everyone. I made turkey enchiladas last night, they were a big hit with the family. If you ever thought of purchasing a gas griddle for your patio I use the heck out of mine. I never realized what a great cooking tool a flat top is until I owned one. Wally World has sales on them all the time.

Welcome aboard! I'll borrow a beer, thanks. Seems my little frig got emptied over the Holiday.

Good Morning all, and I hope your wallet behaved yesterday. Spectrum had us off line all yesterday to prevent any misbehavior. When it finally came back, nothing we wanted anyway!

Happy Birthday and welcome to the porch to all!
Thanksgiving for us was pretty much normal as there is only 6 of us left now anyway. More food than we needed so leftovers went home with all.
I too brought up the Christmas decorations for my wife and I headed outside to hang the lights.
Been working on some other outside home projects trying to get completed before the weather stops me.
    Hope everyone enjoys the weekend!

I've been productive today. Installed a tool box in my bed , then put a power inverter and back up lithium battery in there. Then mounted receptacles on the face of the tool box. Now my truck acts like a generator when the power goes out , or if i need portable power.

Lots of them have regen braking. Switch the motor to a gen on deceleration.

I would consider buying one if i didnt have to plug it in and it would go further than 50 miles or so on a charge. Should just have an onboard alternator that is constantly charging the batteries.

plug it in or stop at a gas station.
Ranges are more like 300 or so.

I don’t ever plan to have an electric car. If I did consider one they would have to have at least a 400 plus mile range and they would have to fully recharge in 10 minutes or less. There are many draw backs to an e car but range, time to recharge and currently lack of charging stations is too much for me.
Earlier this year we took a road trip from California through Nevada to Utah. In one stretch it was 168 miles between gas stations. There were no charging stations for hundreds of miles. It was impossible to make that trip with an electric car. I’ll stick with my dinosaur cars.
