Firestone Destination AT or Revo 2's?

I have it narrowed down to two and am wondering if anyone can comment on these? They both have excellent reviews here. I will be driving mainly on-road. I live in Minnesota so traction in snow is important. I think the big thing that will help me decide is if one might get better gas mileage. It looks like the Firestones are a bit cheaper, so I'm leaning in that direction, but if the Revos get better mileage, that might make up for it.

They're going on an '11 TRD Sport DC LB 4x4 265/75 16, FWIW.

I have had the Revos (originals) anf the Firestones AT on a previous vehicle. The Revos were a much better.

 

I JUST GOT REVO2'S. oops caps lock. its only been 3 days but i like them. they look better too IMO.

 

I used to have the Destination A/T's and now I have the Revo 2's. The Destinations were on the truck when I bought it. They were pretty good, but the wet traction seemed to be lacking compared to the Revo 2's. We don't get much snow, but the Destinations did fine it what we did get last year, although I did get stuck when I slid off my driveway. They didn't have much tread left though, so that was probably the reason. Haven't had the Revo's in the snow yet, so I can't comment. When I got the Revo's I went up in tire size so I can't really compare them mileage wise. They're both good tires, but as someone at Firestone shop told me, the Bridgestones are going to be a little better quality than the Firestones.

 

i thought that firestone and bridgestone were the same? fwiw, i got the bridgestones...no complaints so far (1st winter with them coming up)...

 

Where in MN are you from? btw go with the Revos.

 

Same company, different product lines. I'm wasn't bagging on the Firestone brand at all, I think they are good tires. Also, Bridgestone is the parent company and if it were me, I'd put that name on the best tires.

 

Don't know anything about the Firestones, but I have Revo2s and I think they're great.

 

I have Revo 2's and am incredibly happy with them. I have had them for about a year, including a 5,500 mile road trip last winter. The trip was (fortunately) mostly clear, but we did have some standing snow on some of the highway on the trip back.

They are, in my opinion, as mild-mannered on the highway as the factory AT20's. I live in the Pacific NW, where it rains constantly. I have never hydroplaned with them.

During our trip last year to visit family, we got HAMMERED with snow. I went out rooting around in snow sometimes up to the quarter panels, and the tires did not falter one bit. I didn't even have a hint of getting stuck.

I also got a set of four on a super-secret-squirrel discount for less than $400 installed.

Most likely, when these wear out I will replace them with another set of the same thing. I am extremely satisfied with them.

 

Well, there seems to be a consensus here. Revo 2's it is. With the $70 rebate the price difference isn't that big.

Can you turn the REVOs around and hide the white lettering?

 

I was at the same crossroads...

UNTIL...I saw the Destinations on my nephews truck. They just didn't look that great and were worn after just 25K miles. I went with the Revo 2's and couldn't be happier. Had our first snow (3") this week and the tires maintained traction (for the most part). It was noticeably better than the stock Bridgestone Dueller H/T's that came on it.

 

Revo's my buddy had them on his taco and they were awesome all terrains

i have the Destination AT's now and love them. cant compare them but i can say i really like my tires

 

Have the Destination A/T's....best tire I have ever had.....IMO

 

The Revo's have a sweet white outline letter. But I turned mine in for the blackout look.
