@caribe makaira is a lifesaver when it comes to this stuff. I did the same thing on my brakes, and he helped me out of that one. It's a great community here, so I'm just glad I can help out.

    Ordered 2 new things.
    1. Black rear bumper ends, that will fully delete the chrome.
    2. Diode Dynamics SS3 sport fogs. I been eyeing them since before I put the yellow films on the fogs, which I really did to see if I liked that better than white ones. Must be a holiday sale cus I got $30 off the regular price. Not really needed but a good score. I guess it will be my birthday and Xmas gift to me.

I don't have 1st hand experience doing a recovery with the front end, at all. So take my opinion with a huge grain of salt.

I've been watching a lot of Matt's 4x4 recovery (Winder Towing) on YouTube. He has to recover a lot of stock vehicles. His advice and practice always seems to be to use either both tie down points or to use the lower control arm.

For me, I ended up going with the ARB. It's the only recovery point that's actually rated. I want to have something to get me out of a stupid situation I put myself in without harming the truck further. The other options are to do something like the mobtown off-road front hitch or a winch bumper. All of these connect to the frame and not just the subframe.

All that said, I'm still waiting for a "I ripped my front end off" thread. So, maybe I just worry too much.

The biggest issue with using these as "recovery points" is the single bolt.. Unless you weld them on, but that negates the ability to upgrade to a full bumper later on. Even though I have them on my truck I would use the hitch way before I would trust these for the same task. As others have said the ARB does use all the mounting holes but its only on one side.. I'm pretty sure these would pull something on a flat surface in a straight line. But that is seldom the option when recovering.

ARB ties to the truck's frame. That's the key difference.

Got the new truck cleaned up and (almost) ready for winter. Also was able to take advantage of some Black Friday discounts a local dealer was offering on parts and placed an order for the OEM tailgate lock kit.

Since @MESO is having a Black Friday sale on Saturday, I placed an order for a gas hole.

Maybe I should have bought 87 of them at that discounted price.

I like the Gas hole. Was one of the first things I bolted on to mine and so far the only MESO customs thing I've bought.

In NJ we have gas attendants. I put the cap in the gashole after exiting the truck and the attendant struggled to get it out of the gashole after the pump stopped. I said " whoooah big fella" and had to remove the cap and install it on the neck myself.

I have relatives that live in NJ. I always hate getting fuel when I was there. When I had my diesel Liberty I had to go to truck stops or buy back in PA. Those idiots would try to put gas in at the ones you could not pump yourself even after I told them diesel more then once.
It seems silly to have attendants when it's simple to pump it yourself, but it's got something to do with the fire codes or something there.
