    Towing only becomes feasible with trailers that have their own built in motors and battery packs. At the commercial level this could make economic sense. I think we're a ways away from a consumer option - the price of the trailer will likely keep people away. its a 65-6x KWhr increase for an electric truck towing ~5000lbs. I seriously looked into going electric but once I realized I couldn't make it to the track and back towing in one charge, it killed the dream. Enter the taco..... (yup, I said it)

    I haven’t asked for an update. I think I’m still on 6. Maybe 7 I can’t remember.
    I’ll probably email magnuson with a few questions soon and I’ll see if there’s a newer tune.

    They now have tunes for modified and 2021 Tacos though. I got an email about that

    I had v5 and went to v7. I didn’t really feel any difference. However, I did notice that the CEL came on really quick when I had my OVTune dump tubes installed. With v5 it would take roughly 150 miles to come on every time I cleared it. With v7 it would come on at around 15 miles every time I cleared it. I think the update was more emissions related and not performance. Probably trying to pass CARB.

    Do you have the catted or uncatted dump tubes? I ordered a set of catted AFE dump tubes and am debating whether or not to install with the base magnuson SC tune.

    I tried a o2 spacer and it didn’t work. Still got cell. I was going to try one of those mini cat o2 spacers but decided to just take it off and put my stock pipes/cats back on. I’m going to put them back on when I find someone to tune it or until I learn how.

    What did magnuson say about the exhaust mods when you asked for the tune. I’ve been considering a y pipe to delete the rear cats.

    Maybe let Magnuson know that they can tune this out by changing those last two values in Vftuner (bottom of the list) to 0.
    It is a 30 second fix with Vftuner. Change two numbers, save, then send it to you.

    They said they’re not planning to support after market exhaust mods. The tune works fine without the rear CATs though. I have no rear CATs. I have the spec-u exhaust which deletes the rear CATs.

    I think convincing them to do that is going to be a challenge even if it’s a 30 sec fix because they’re trying to be CARB compliant. Anyhow, I’d want someone to actually tune it and not just kill the light. I noticed the truck running a little lean at WOT (AFR mid to high 12’s). With the stock pipes/CATs I’m seeing high 11’s to low 12’s.

    Finally took the restrictor out of the bypass valve today. Yup. Definitely a difference. I am curious what the shadow side of doing it might be?
