Living in Muskoka, Petawawa or even spending time up in Alert taught me;

It's no fun to pee at -50C...

Must be with windchill? At work, we couldn't even find actual -40C anywhere in Canada for cold soak testing a few years ago. Ended up sending a team to Yakutsk. The whole team survived...

 

Why not Norilsk? -60C too much?

 

That winter, Yakutsk was a couple of degrees colder than Norilsk, but neither city went below -50C, which we were aiming for.

Meso parts are out of stock often, so order what you need from whichever shop that has them in stock. Last month, I had to order the Meso map lights from TacomaLifeStyle.Com.

 

So I ran the milwaukee inverter I had shown earlier with one of the12ah batteries, powering the camp fridge. Managed 11½ hrs with one bar remaining. It was still running but near the end I'm sure. These are obviously best case scenarios because ambient temp. but still quite happy with the results in general.

Just a reminder, this was the last weekend to wonder out on the trails. Starting Tuesday all trails are closed and going to re-open May 1st, 2021.

Got a lot done this weekend:

• Removed the skids and gave the frame a good wash
• Painted all the trail scars on skids, sliders, frame, and rear axle
• Oil change Mobil 1 0W30 and Toyota filter
• Replaced cabin filter Fram P/N CF10374 with activated carbon
• Greased the front driveshaft with Lucas Xtra NGLI #2
• Treated all the side windows with Aquapel P/N 47101
• Flattened a dent in the BudBuilt engine skid with the Toyota two-ton press:

Tomorrow will be undercoating with CRC cosmoline and Fluid Film

 

Huh, for some reason I always thought that some trails were open all year around... I'll have to check the OF4WD site when i get a chance.

 

Some trails at VMUTS yes, everything else is closed.
