Good Morning Crew. our rifle season is done. we are pretty much stand hunters but on the last day the boys drive with their friends on powerful good farms they have to fill the freezer with does. this land is managed so even on pushes its does or Good bucks. Well Good News,they got the nice 8pt my oldest stuck on 1st day of bow in october and lost.ill have to get a pic if they took one. he was so happy that it didnt die wasted in Oct. my youngest got a couple does

Our regular gun season ends today. The 10 day muzzleloader starts tomorrow. I still have a antlerless I can use. But I think one deer is enough for my wife and I. Did get 80 pounds of meat from my buck. Waiting on 10 pounds of snack sticks and 5 pounds of bologna.

 

I love pics from everyones stands. we actually talked about having a squirrel shoot where we hunt. they were freakin everywhere this year.and bark all dang day. a hawk flew through the other evening at my sit and the whole area barked for over an hour. finally got up and moved. i saved the fat squirrel pic

 

80 pounds? Must’ve been a huge deer.

 

@Jtcmedic, i sorta agree, but there is something about, being up and settled in yer stand 45 minutes before legal huntin, get a lil nod in, the the birds-n-such announcing, that its time

 

I love both. but my favorite is to huff up the mountain before light and watch the sun rise as quiet woods come to life and the cool thermals come up out of the valley up high on the mtn. Its just me and God.

 

Processed my buck 30 lb of grind and loins taken out, and stew meat and 4 roast, full cut my favorite has a eye round,bottom round and a top round.-
Also did 2 round roast, then cooked 2 burgers from what didn’t fit.to test it all for research

Luck of my season. oldest son was out kicking ball with my grandaughter. I watch the wooded draw behind the house. good bedding cover. seen nothing all season there. he comes in and tells me to come out. two racked bucks just pounding a doe in the draw and one was real good buck. season went out yesterday

Got the rest of the wife's deer cut up and in the freezer... Little inner loins were just right as a reward for my hard work

 

Well. Closing day here for general rifle. Never found a buck I wanted to shoot. Eating my tag this year. Watching the sun set on closing day with a tag is bittersweet. Ended up with a doe antelope, white tail doe, and my wife’s Muley buck. Had tons of fun this year. Still have a chance for elk on a shoulder hunt. If it happens it happens. May take the shot gun out and try to shoot a few geese this year while it’s still nice out.
